Has nominated for the AFL draft

According to ten news the Crows had not previously given any thought to drafting him but will be "giving it some thought over the following days"

Wouldnt this move spit in the face of Torney etc

Whats everyones thoughts?

Torney, Bode and Perrie havn't nominated however. In terms of stuart dew, all i can say, really, is please no:eek:. I thought we were trying to reduce the age of our team, look to the future, i cannot see Dew and Future residing in the same sentence, other than this one;).

I know it was reported that he was considering such a move a little while back, but I'm still surprised.

Anyway. good luck to Stewy if selected

He lived in Melbourne as a kid and supported Hawthorn - that's where he'll end up.

AFC would not dare - or would they - who the **** knows.

Arent names left in teh draft for a couple of years? Theres some Port Magpies names in there who havent played for a couple of years. Peter Walsh is in there too.

I think the big fella is more suited to a role as Santa Claus in the local Shopping Centre. Id be horrified if the Crows even thought about it. Its Hawthorn or Central Districts next season for Stuart.

if he still looks the same as when i saw him at my sisters boyfriends 30th then it will be quite a laugh seeing him running (or atleast attempting) around. the man had blown up like ballon

Last time I saw him was at our local footy finals. He was looking rather large and he had a hot dog, bucket of chips and a sausage roll along with 3 Jonnie Walker........ and he wasnt sharing 1 little bit !!!:D

If he does go to the Hawks Josh Thurgood will be lucky he was deslisted, Stewwy might eat him.

I ws pretty sure that was the case but thought it was good enough for a giggle. ;)

It was a good giggle for a lot of them. I was amazed who was on the list but then I thought of Josh Mahoney who ended up with a premiership medal from just this kind of situation.

So you can always live in hope

There was an article in the paper a few weeks ago about how clarkson was an assistant at the Power when Dew played there.
Apparently they caught up one day several months ago and Clarko mentioned to Dew if you get fit and nominate for the draft Hawthorn will concider drafting him.

From what I've heard Stewie has been working very hard to get into some sort of shape, and so isnt quite the porky pig that people are suggesting. He would be more like the build of Darren Jarman in his last year or two, and could probably play a similar role in the forward line. Having said that, I would be spewing to see him drafted by us. We've made the tough calls on a few older players, and we have clearly made the decision to go young and rebuild. Stewie Dew would be a step in the other direction IMO, and would fly in the face of our previous decisions. I dont think our players would be all that happy about it either. Really, only a club with a realistic chance of winning the flag in the next 2 seasons would consider Dew, as a goal kicking top up player for their squad. Personally, I see him playing in Centrals next flag in 2008.
