Good move by the club. I spoke to somebody that was at South Fremantle when Sumich was coach and he said that because of his delivery, he may come across as sounding a bit dumb but he has a very sharp footy mind and analyses a game very, very well.

And, yes Reynaa you're correct. He was the midfield coach during their premiership year. But when you have the cattle there's probably not a whole lot of coaching going on in that engine room.

Not really, coaches need to be there to evaluate performances, set structures/tactics, etc.. I think Sumich has been underrated for a long time, probably due to the fact that his media persona isn't exactly exemplary. However he brings a lot of experience to the table and was part of a premiership coaching panel. Will be a good get for you guys.

As much as I don't think he can articulate the English language very well...he has a super coaching record, won premierships as a player & Assistant Coach. A good get.

All prejudices aside, I'm glad we've secured an experienced assistant coach and one who has been to the top. I am proud of this club for going out and getting who we damn well want to get.

If there was any doubt in the players minds about how serious the club is to secure success, well I reckon that has been stomped on today.

Never thought much of Suma in the past before I watched the doco on the 91 Eagles grand final the other day when I was hung-over. I was quite impressed with a few things, he just seemed very driven to succeed, a real competitor and a leader. Seemed pretty filthy with a few of the boys in that game.

I’m sure he may add to some of these lacking capacities to our club.
