He's 30 now isn't he? Not sure how I feel about that one.

Yep, 30 in June. Works extremely hard and is a true professional, Considering you're in the UCL next season he'd be a good option off the bench as a rotation player wouldn't expect him to replace a Mahrez if he were to move on.

Yeah he's a burnt-out has been at the age of 53

He has won nothing in Europe since 2010. His particular brand of football is no longer such a success.
I have seen it many times with previous managers like Sacchi , Hiddink , Capello ,etc...
Their time passes and their way of playing no longer gets success .

What? He won the league last season with Chelsea? He won La Liga with Madrid in 2011-12.

12 months ago he walked the league and did a double. As much as it pains me he's going to be a success at United

I presume he meant 'Europe' as in European trophies (ie champions league).

So we decide a manager is past it if they don't win in Europe for 6 years?

Gee that Alex Ferguson was a lucky bastard then! Four European trophies in some 30 odd years!? Should have been sacked as he was quite clearly past it.

I know, I never said I agreed with it.

Don't think it is unfair to suggest that there are questions that need answering on Mou. It will be very interesting to see how it goes for him at United, and there is no cast-iron guarantee he will be a success.

I think it would be better for United if they waited until their squad was a bit stronger before they go for someone like Mourinho.

Never lasts more than three years without alienating the playing squad and I just don't think United are good enough to win a title in the next two years.

Maybe keep LVG on for another year or two. Then have a re-think.

They are not winning the league next year imo. Squad needs a bit of work. How many seasons (Windows) would it take Mou to get them in a position to contend?
I think our squad is good enough to challenge with a few good signings in the summer. I expect players like Memphis, Darmian and Schneiderlin will be playing much better under a new manager.
There's a difference between expect and hope.

I think any of the big four plus City and Spurs are capable of winning the title in the next two years if they get it right in a summer window or two. The league is so open right now.

I hope LvG stays and Mourinho goes nowhere near United. I hate the man enough already as it is. Where will he go after United? Everton perhaps.

Are you suggesting Liverpool are still one of the "big 4"? Can't recall the last time they were labelled as that.

I don't think Leicester can be written of at this stage either. We've already made that mistake once

Our owners would love him as well. They're trying to get a bigger name in Asia (which was part of the reason for the Okazaki transfer). What would he cost us?

Just what i refer to as the big four. The traditional big four. Or the Sky four.

Leicester was a one and done crazy season. IMO they wont challenge again.

City are considered part of the established big clubs now. I would put them as part of a big four with Spurs and Liverpool trying to become part of that group.
