Lacazette bid was confirmed by Sullivan's son. We'll come back in for $35M or go back for Batshauyi.

Still don't believe we bid for the Bournemouth duo despite what Eddie said.

I don't see you getting either. We're interested in both, I'd imagine so are Arsenal potentially and I'm sure there'd be others as well.

Would either you or Arsenal be willing to pay $35m for a striker who might not be an automatic starter at either club though?

We can guarantee first team football at least I would have thought.

Well Arsenal should do but they do have Wenger, they need an upgrade on Giroud. Imo we should as we need a 2nd striker but also someone who is decent enough given we'll have 4 competitions to compete in and will need good backup for the CL if Kane were to get injured. So we really should imo.

Edit: we also made numerous bids around 25m for Berahino who's inferior so we are dead serious about getting a striker in.

We have the CL, and ability to offer higher wages too.

What a time to be alive.

That's true, but if you can't sell Giroud or Walcott, would you bring in another striker?

Suppose it depends on whether Wenger thinks they're an upgrade or not.
We will definitely be bringing in a new striker with Welbeck out for 9 months.

Whether its a 30 million+ player to be first choice or another mid-range player to compete with Giroud is still unknown. 99.9% of Arsenal fans hoping for the former.

99.9% chance to be the latter

Didn't Wenger recently come out and say he'd sign a forward but Giroud was still number 1?
Not specifically. In the post match press conference the reporter asked him if he saw Giroud as the starting striker for next season. He said that with Welbeck out we are going to need another striker and from then it is up to competition between them.

He's not the kind of manager to say that one of his players isn't good enough and needs a replacement, never has.
