serge aurier is at it again, being arrested for hitting a police officer. time at psg almost certainly over.

kicker say arsenal will bid 25 mil euro for ricardo rodriguez, who wants to join.

carrick to sign a 1 year extension

boro likely bidding for stade's mandi.

kicker also say bayern want sane but not this window. cos they think he isnt needed and dont want to get into a bidding war cos he has a 35 mil release clause next season.

those wonderful twitter itk's are saying it's gundogan day again. im still ready.

There are times when The Mirror matches The Sun for sheer imbecility.

@johncrossmirror: Sturridge just took his waterproof off. Discovered it was cold and put it back on again.

Are you in for him too? Been a few stories with us linked to him here and there but think we'll get Jansen or Long depending on who Poch went to scout
I hope to god we don't go for long. Would be such a levy thing to do though. We're in the champions league, we need to actually spend for once. If we have been given £50 million then I'd like to see 15-25 spent on a good striker and the rest split between two midfielders (dm amd cm).

He'll only cost £60m+
If we offload both Sturridge and Benteke then we'd almost have to pay top dollar for a top striker. We'd have enough money if both are sold.

At this stage I think Sturridge will stay and Benteke will leave. Meaning no striker is bought.

West ham fan forum saying United have bidded for Oxford.
$15M bid apparently.

I have mixed views on it, would pay for our academy over the next 3 years, but he's such a special talent.

I'd try to get him to accept a new deal and if he won't, start negotiating with United.

For such a young talent, You'd hope there is a sell-on + performance based clauses on top of that 15mil if he goes.

Why is Mou interested in Oxford? Do United's U21s need a CM?

The Higuain stuff is hilarious. Has a ridiculously huge buy out clause. We've shown no interest. So it's a bizarre story.

I dont think Klopp works that way, splashing 60-80 mill on one player. The squad needs work in other areas, we cant blow our whole budget on one signing.

Long - term replacement for Carrick or CB partner for Smalling I suppose.

That and he might not want to pay $40M for John Stones.

It wouldn't be a glamorous signing but it wouldn't be terrible. Long plays the ST role that Poch is after well. Can partner Kane or play up front on his own. Wouldn't pay big money for him but also think he is a safer option than say Jansen who could be a young Soldado

Oxford's agent is also Aidy Ward, who you'll remember last season as Raheem Sterling's agent.
As well as Jerome Sinclair who was our U21s striker. Off to Watford now. Fair to say I'm not a fan of ol' Aidsy.

We need better though. We need someome who will push kane. Long isn't that player. I'd take him as 3rd choice, however I'd much rather see harrison given a run if it came to that.

Agree to disagree. I dont think the ST we sign will become #1 choice, Kane is definitely one of the best in the league. What we need is someone who can play in the PL after we have mid-week games so we dont over burden Kane. Someone like Long is tried and tested in the league and should be able to come in and start while we give Kane a rest and you know what you'll get from him.

Someone like Jannsen or Batsuyahi could very well be the next big things. Or they could suck and we end up selling for 1/2 the value after one season. Plus I dont know how well they'd go in a front 2 with Kane, haven't watched enough of them to know. But Long would definitely be a great partner (better than Berahino & Callum Wilson that's for sure)

One of the best in Germany, and that's saying something. The rest of his team was horrific though. Same as Burki last year - incredible amount of saves but team got relegated
Outstanding. Sounds like it'd be a great bit of business!

Wonder how Schmeichel feels about that.

Doubt he'd care. He'll still get first crack at it.

Hamer is the one that will probably be off now. He's a bloody decent keeper and too good to be 3rd in line.

If you're buying one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga it seems to suggest that the club thinks that's an area of priority to improve.

If it was one of your last signings in the window I'd feel less put out, but if I were Schmeichel I'd be feeling a bit jaded.

Roma buy Rudiger outright.
I sure hope that means they're offloading him to us as i've read previously. Would be a decent buy.

Yeah, all the talk is they'll on sell him with us the favourites and make a tidy £10m profit. Would be happy to get him too.

It could be more of a 'too good to pass up' purchase, given his relegation clause
