I'm happy with Liverpool holding out on Benteke. I'm so sick of us bending over on prices for other players and then selling players on the cheap. Since Klopp has come in we have done excellent business. Ibe for 15, Smith for 6, Allen with just one year left on his contract for 13.

With the market the way it is, no way should we be accepting anything less than 30 for Benteke.

I'd be happy for Chelsea to take him on loan if Remy goes. Not sure he'd want to be third fiddle for us though.

They've already bid £30m, the only stumbling block is the add ons part of the transfer fee. Palace need a target man desperately with their game plan and there is no better target man than Benteke in the PL.

Being only 25 is a bonus too.

I see add-ons as an insurance policy for them, 7m would cover his wages for one season based on his reported wage demands. If he flops and fails to meet the add-ons then they are only really paying him (based on a 5 year contract) ~100k/week. If he hits them all then they would consider he is worth 30mill+ 125k/week.

Balitelli yes. Benteke no. Klopp is very happy with Benteke's attitude and wouldnt have a problem keeping him. Unlike Baloteli Klopp hasn't said Benteke must leave to further his career.

If we were desperate to move Benteke on we would have accepted bids from one of the many clubs chasing him already.

Balotelli is a different story. We would accept 5m for him right away. Unfortunately the only clubs Balo is interested in joining are poor Italian clubs that can only offer us payments in 1000 installments + a bowl of fettuccini.

25m is not just giving him away. You'd lose a small amount on what you paid for him but so what? Getting 25m is still better than not getting anything. As I said, Liverpool don't need to penny pinch. Just bite the bullet and piss him off

No doubt we will... but not for 23m. I think we will come to a deal of around 25m with perhaps 5m in more achievable add on's.

Prices are up across the board. The market moves as one.

I guess we will see what happens. I'm not bothered either way. It doesnt matter as it's not my money and we dont need to sell to buy. So it's not like im hanging for us to get 30 million cos we need as much as we can to reinject into the squad.

Of course I hope the club sells him for as much as possible. I think anywhere from 25 to 30 will happen.

Well it kinda does, Liverpool need to decide if paying him for minimum 6 more months until Jan and not playing him is worth not accepting a more than fair offer. With not playing his value is only going to go down whilst he wages stay the same.

I dont think wages are seen that way. A wage budget must be adhered to, not individual wages.

Does the club want to pay big money to guys like Balo and Tekkers who wont play. Of course not, but the club has budgeted for them so it doesnt really matter either way. It's only a bonus if you get them off the books.
