Good move for him IMOPaul Joyce:
"Meanwhile, AC Milan have registered an interest in Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic.
The Italians are one of a number of clubs who have checked on the availability of Markovic, who has returned to Anfield following a spell on loan at Fenerbahce but could find opportunities limited."
Hey Jatz, I think that's 2-1.![]()
@RorySmithTimes: Someone told me today that a lot of PL clubs are finding European sides suddenly aren't blinking on valuations any more.
@RorySmithTimes: Lyon a good example: Aulas has always driven a hard bargain, but now he's not driving a bargain at all. Just the asking price.
@RorySmithTimes: @Kris___Jones Just that: the new TV deal hasn't necessarily made it easier to get players. Harder, possibly.
@RorySmithTimes: It's a bit like when they introduced the Euro, and people just randomly put their prices up.

60m for Koulibaly is just ridiculous, worth half that.
The TV money could actually hurt English clubs in their ability to buy/sell players quite a bit. With these inflated transfer fees comes inflated wages. With inflated wages & fees comes unsellable players down the track for any that don't work out. Not saying Kouibally will, but imagine he goes on to be a Rojo who can't cut it. Chelsea would be trying to sell a guy who cost 60m with Europe not willing to spend half that@RorySmithTimes: Someone told me today that a lot of PL clubs are finding European sides suddenly aren't blinking on valuations any more.

It makes me wonder how much someone such as Ogbonna would have gone for currently in the transfer market, where we got him for 10M last off-season.The TV money could actually hurt English clubs in their ability to buy/sell players quite a bit. The only way I can see that happening is if there is a bit of collusion from the continent to try and ensure that get some cash out of the PL's popularity. Of course if they don't need to sell a player and an English club is in for them, then they can hold out for asking price, but if the player is coming to the end of a contract and/or there are two teams bidding, e.g. one English and one German, the huge money in England is obviously going to put them in the boxseat. The TV money could actually hurt English clubs in their ability to buy/sell players quite a bit. Yep. No CB is worth anything close to that. K2 is as cracking CB though.
But as with Pogba it looks like we'll have to overpay to get our man. As with you guys we can afford to do it so if hes Contes number 1 target just get it done.
Yes but unlike Pogba you won't get any money back via his marketability. 60m for a CB and more so for one not considered in the top 5 in the world in his position is a terrible deal.
I really don't care about marketability and getting our money back isn't something we need to worry about. I want us to buy players in areas of need who will make us a better team and help us win stuff.
K2 will do that. He is a cracking CB coming off a great season I'm more than happy for us to spend big on him.
Coming from a United fan...All you'll be doing is letting the other clubs in the world know that you'll overpay a **** load on players. We'll sell you Jones for 50m, easy money.

Like youve done with Pogba.
We've been doing it for years, but I'd rather pay extra for the players we really rate and want rather then settle for the cheaper and inferior ones. Its not like we cant afford it.
Barely with Pogba of who we'll make a lot of the fee back over the next few years.
Easily better CB available and for less.
FWIW I'm not trying to rub Chelsea supporters up here, I just think it's a ludicrous price.
So ludicrous that I don't even believe that it has any truth to it.
Not all continental signings will work going to England. Probably 4-5 European clubs are capable of making £30-40m signings so if English clubs sign clubs for more than that they're going to have a very hard time getting them off their books if it doesn't work outWhen you look at Bolasie, Wijnaldum, Mane, etc, I think you can say there's at least an extra 33% on top this season

Pogba really has nothing to do with this, not sure why you keep mentioning him, it doesn't help justify the price tag. Pogba is actually worth around what we paid.Me for K2 is as good as any option out there and if hes also Contes number 1 target at CB then thats good enough for me. Pay what ever it takes to make it happen, just like you guys did with poggles.
Im not really fussed about making back fees or not as im not an accountant. I just want to see my team win games of football.
