Backup keeper nearly done. Mustn't trust McGee go you pups
Weird one for the player, he'll spend all but just over a month as the 3rd choice.
Good deal I reckon. Won't be surprised if Vorm has been promised a move in January to be a number one keeper again. McGee to get his first senior loan wouldn't be a bad idea too. Pau will move up to 2nd choice once Vorm goes

We are being linked with Ricardo Rodriguez for £22m which is his release. Would be a pretty smart signing if it's true.

LB is such a Burmuda Triangle for us since Cole left so it makes to much sense to actually happen:huh:

Don't think so, mate. His release clause expired on July 1. Wolfsburgs sporting director said weeks ago that after that point that he'll become more expensive.

Palace tabled an improved offer yesterday for Benteke which guarantees Liverpool will receive £27m, plus a further £5m in realistic add-ons.

Liverpool paid Aston Villa £32.5m for the Belgium international last summer.

Benteke last night travelled to London ahead of a medical and will finalise personal terms with the player’s camp having been seeking wages of £120,000-a-week.

The breakthrough in negotiations ends a complicated process which has dragged throughout the summer.

Liverpool rejected an offer of £23.5m, plus £7m in add-ons which were partly dependent on Palace qualifying for the Champions League, on Tuesday.

However, it has emerged that Palace’s first formal bid for Benteke amounted to just £15m. That they have effectively doubled that offer during the course of lengthy discussions will be seen as a victory by Liverpool, who have stood firm on their valuation in the current market throughout the saga.

...

Liverpool have now recouped £72m from the sales of Benteke, Joe Allen, Martin Skrtel, Jordon Ibe, Brad Smith, Jerome Sinclair and Sergi Canos this summer.

They have spent around £63m on Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ragnar Klavan and Loris Karius.

Great result for all parties. Sorry to disappoint those who were hoping/expecting us to be stuck with him, or that we'd be selling him for half that. Now he can get back to his favourite pastime - putting a hat-trick past us twice a year!

Sounds like I was right about him being valued at 15m, looks like palace just caved because they were desperate.

It's a burden, always being right. ;)

why? price seems fair given the market.
didnt palace sell some average player for 25m last week?
Yeah but he wasn't on 120k a week.

whats he on?
teks is a much better player than that other guy as well.
Possibly but that doesn't matter. You wanted rid and he was on 120k, that chump was wanted by palace and I doubt he was on even half the wage.

In all seriousness disappointed to seed Benteke go as he is a quality goalscorer. Simply a victim of us changing management mid season. Did everything right and had a great attitude.

It is inevitable that he will put a hatty past us at Anfield now.

Baffling that he wasn't snapped up before his release got removed. If we didn't have Shaw I would have liked him at United.

Yeah, thats who I wanted to replace Cole a few years back. Would have been cheaper back then too.

Am I the only one who thinks 32m for Benteke is a good deal for Palace? (a fantastic outcome for Liverpool too) Opportunities to purchase proven Premier League goal scorers don't come around very often especially for a club of Palace's structure, no disrespect intended. They can build their squad around, well done to all parties.

I think most will agree that it's a good buy for Palace, could keep them in the PL as well.
