Being 'cooked' doesn't mean that things that were promised, and weren't delivered = angry ex-player.

Fair enough.

You could argue that he was contracted at probably a decent wage for 2017-2018 and 2019 and didn’t deliver AFL quality performances.

Seems like a very nice guy, but had players leaving in droves whilst he was a senior player at the club.

Disappointing that he didn’t leave on good terms. But from a complete outsiders view, I don’t think it’s a bad thing we got a whole host of new people in after those dark days.

That's probably the most confusing part. Despite having a year to run on his contract, Brisbane booked Risch on what they had hoped would be a one way ticket to Melbourne so he could tour Carlton's facilities in an attempt to trade him for Fevola. That's one sure fire way to make a player feel worthless! Adding to that, Voss explained in his Open Mike interview that he told Bradshaw that he wasn't being considered for involvement in the Fevola trade and then completely flipped it on him three days later and sent him down to Melbourne to tour Carlton's facilities as well. So who knows what they told Risch at the time but it obviously cut them both pretty deeply because they had both left the club less than 12 months later.

I won't profess to know what was happening inside the four walls while Rischitelli was on our list but we kept him on for close to a decade (even when his form didn't warrant a list spot) and was given life membership despite not reaching the 150 game milestone with us. I'm not sure we could have done much more for the guy while he was with us...

Just keep in mind that this Rischitelli intel is based on third hand information. For all we know Risch still loves the club.

I think there might be more context to him wearing the Brisbane jumper that night. The Lions put together something special for his son Kai's 10th birthday that night and showed him on the big screen at halftime as one of Brisbane's members who was celebrating a birthday. They even made a big deal about it on their website before the game:

I’m referring to a few years ago, maybe the year or two years after he finished up. But agreed that it can’t be that fractured if he’s showing up to suns events

i think it was either sunday morning footy show or last night's coverage, but someone mentioned noah lost 7kg focusing on his running this offseason. anyone else heard this?

didn't think he had 7kg to lose from last year, but whatever he's doing he's in the top 5/10 in km covered per match so it's obviously worked!

I was really surprised by those comments in here earlier in the week, Risch does not strike me as a salty type at all. He's always been super easy going.

What's surprising is that Brisbane were really pissed with him when he left them to join GC. So it's surprising.
I believe he was 'promised' some sort of coaching role which was never delivered.
So l'm told.

100% agree with this.

Ben King out of contract next year will get some massive offers and we are actually in a position to match whatever he's offered.

I also love that Bailey Humphrey is signed up long term on a pretty good contract "that doesn't exceed $600k".
If Humphrey is improving like he has over the first half of this season, we have an absolute gun on a great contract.
