ok so on the back of a talking to from Gibbsy, I have reshuffled my team about a little.

Here goes:

Fisher, Hurley, Russell, Farmer, Kennelly, Ladson, X Clarke. em Maguire, D Grimes
Ablett, Gibbs, Watson, Vince, Kerr, Martin em Trengrove, Cunnington
Sandilands, Warnock em Bailey, J Trengrove
Goodes, Riewaldt, Pavlich, Brown, Rioli, Dangerfield, Gumbleton. em Butcher, Watts

What do you think??

Sorry to be so blunt but its for the best :p I'm only doing this cuz i like you PooMonkey.

Backline is still too iffy for mine, I dont like the Farmer or Clarke selections and still think it needs a bit of a re-jig. I'd look at downgrading one of your premium forwards and upgrade a back like hurley or Russell to Hodge.

I also think that there are better options for SC than Watson who doesn't kick as much as he handballs (not doubting him as a player just not a good supercoach prospect IMO). My advice would be to trade him for Cooney who is very cheap and is having a good pre-season. Then use the extra cash to boulster your backline.

Your also wasting about 60-70k on the forward bench with both Butcher and Watts unlikely to play more than a dozen games this year and will not score that well anyway.

Remember it's your team and this is just advice.

All good mate, I appreciate the feedback.
I will let you know how I go with the continued re jig!:thumbsu:

thoughts on my team would be greatly appreciated, cheers in advance:
Back: Newman, Goddard, Cornes, Gilbee, Ellis, Kennely, Talia (will probably change him)

Mid: Dal Santo, O'Keefe, Hodge, Cooney, S.Burgoyne, Martin

Ruck: Tippet, Hille (not really happy here)

Fwd: Riewoldt, Pav, Stevie J, Buddy, R.Murphy, Jurrah, Gumbleton

still a lot of playing around to be done, this is just a first draft, not bothering with bench rookies until i see the best options in the nab cup

I have effectively made my bench a bit cheaper and downgraded from Hille to Charman in order to add Goddard and Riewoldt in there to make the whole ground look a bit more dangerous. Would appreciate feedback.

My sketchy team: VII

B: B. Goddard - S. Fisher - L. Hodge - L. Gilbee - L. Hansen - A. Raines - B. Sheppard

C: G. Ablett (c) - S. Pendlebury - J. Selwood (vc) - B. Vince - P. Dangerfield - T. Scully

R: D. Cox - J. Charman

F: N. Riewoldt (vc) - C. Knights - C. Rioli - M. Hurley - J. Kennedy - J. Ziebell - G. Rohan

EM: J. Trengove - P. Davis - D. Martin - K. Stevens - S. Grimley - S. McNamara - A. Black - J. Podsiadly

IN: B. Goddard - D. Martin - K. Stevens - J. Charman - N. Riewoldt - S. McNamara
OUT: A. Otten - H. Hartlett - R. Ediriwickrama - D. Hille - B. Fevola - N. Vardy

Love your backline, am strongly thinking about Hansen myself actually, Raines I'm not sure about but others look good.
Why not play Dangerfield in the forward line for Ziebell or Rohan? Trengove could could slot nicely into the midfield.
Rucks not too sure about, apparently Cox isn't travelling too well this pre season and Charman is very risky. Your forward line also looks shaky, with Riewoldt the only premium. Will Hurley back it up after last year?
Not too sure about your emergencies but I'll guess we can wait until the NAB cup.

Anyway here's my team, have a crack at it guys:

Backs: J.Drummond, L.Hodge, S.Hurn, C.Enright, M.Drum, D.Myers, B.Sheppard (P.Davis and M.Davies)

Midfield: G.Ablett, S.Pendlebury, J.Selwood/B.Sewell, A.Cooney, J.Trengove, D.Martin (J.Crichton and R.Bastinac)

Rucks: A.Sandilands, M.Kreuzer (R.Warnock and M.Lobbe)

Forwards: N.Riewoldt, C.Sylvia, L.Franklin, C.Rioli, K.Tippett, P.Veszpremi, L.Tapscott (R.Tarrant and T.Dennis-Lane)

Basically think Hurn will turn into a premium this year, Hodge will get back to his best, Drum and Myers will be good value players.
Midfield is self-explanatory.
Forward line is risky, but I think Buddy will average 105+ again, Rioli will improve after another pre season and Sylvia and Tippett will take the next level.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guyz this is my first crack at a SC team this yr:

Still have 250K left over, should Rohan, Kreuzer, Hunt or Masten be upgraded? Also, not very keen on Rohan or Gumbleton starting.

masterblaster94, you've got a pretty decent team developing so far. forward line falls off after the first three guns, and the selections of Mcglynn and Houli are very risky. Also not sold about Rioli as a SC player.
More, importantly, you might want to try selecting some RUCKMEN

Have a crack at my team...

DEF:
Goddard, Hodge, Gilbee, Kennelly, Ladson, Raines, Sheppard.
Emergencies: Maguire, Davis

MID:
Ablett, Selwood, Cooney, Burgoyne, Cotchin, Trengove.
Emergencies: Martin, Marigliani.

RUCK:
Cox, Charman.
Emergencies: Lobbe, Gawn.

FOR:
Chapman, Goodes, Pavlich, Harvey, Tippett, Murphy, Wonaemirrii
Emergencies: Tapscott, Walsh.

Can some people actually give feedback to other teams instead of mindly posting 'hay guyz heers my fi1rst crak watts u rekn?'

foleyisagun:

I think Your side has merrit, but you have a few players that may need to change because of there form leading upto the season, the players im talking about are:

Raines, Burgoyne, Cooney, Murphy, Wonaemirrii

I would also keep a injury watch on Cox, this may also warrant a rethink in your ruck structure.

But if your players have form your side will have alot of potential to a good season

Bit weak with rohan, martin and sheppard starting, but with 250k left over probably upgrade rohan to dangerfiled/ziebell. and maybe waters instead of sheppard in the backline. Bit biased towards the forward line, so you can upgrade one of the mids by downgrading one of your more expensive forwards. Anyway here is my team so far,

Good team mate. If I were to question anything it would be the combination of Drum and Myers in defense, but hey it is unique. Not sold on Veszpremi either but a good starting template none the less.

My team:
B- Goddard, Enright, Fisher, Hodge, Hunt, Ladson, Maguire (Davis, Webberley)
M- Ablett, Selwood, Harvey, Cooney, Buckley, Martin (Trengove, Cunnington)
R- Cox, Hille (Warnock, Lobbe)

Hmmm, still trying to get my mix right, but at the moment I have:

Hodge
Hunt

McGuane
Emerge
Goose
Trengove (port)

Mids
Ablett
Bartel

Palmer

Emerg:

Forwards
Pavlich

Rioli
Kennedy
Polkinghorne
Emerge
Watts
Tapscott

As you can see i completely Jewed out on my ruck division, but with the two on offer i didnt think it was worth dishing out the extra dosh for an extra 20 points a game each.

Last year i really neglected my emergencies and hardly any of them got a game, this year i want to ensure i have cover for injuries, as last year they killed me.

My forward line is mainly reliant on some young players having big years, and I have a inspired feeling about Polkinghorne (that is probably unfounded, I think he maybe kicked some goals against the cats last year).

My backline is pretty solid, though McGuane is filler (is he injured?).

And my Midfield is quite hot/cold, I hope I get lucky with some young players standing up.

My team:
B- Goddard, Enright, Fisher, Hodge, Hunt, Ladson, Maguire (Davis, Webberley)
M- Ablett, Selwood, Harvey, Cooney, Buckley, Martin (Trengove, Cunnington)
R- Cox, Hille (Warnock, Lobbe)
F- Riewoldt, Higgins, Tippett, Rioli, Dangerfield, Ziebell, Gumbleton (Tapscott, Dennis-Lane)

Any feedback would be appreciated. Post a team and i'll try to help you too

Strong backline. Very strong. Although question marks over Hunt and to a lesser extent Maguire. If Ladson can get back to his best he is a proven scorer.

Midfield is also strong. Very unique choice with Buckley. New club may help, but I have doubts over whether he will get game time? Monitor NAB Cup form.

Good rucks, nothing else to say here. Maybe downgrade Cox to Jolly to free up some cash to maybe upgrade on of Tippett, Dangerfield or Ziebell.

Forwards have depth, but monitor Gumby's progress. He is ticking all the boxes at the moment though. I too have him as my 7th forward as if he is fit and ready to go, he will play.

Wellington, I would downgrade Cotchin to a rooke (Morabito, Trengove) and upgrade Palmer to Cooney or something.

Thanks for the feedback mate. Will definately monitor cox and the forward line over the nab cup. If i sense a weakness with cox he will be out, but he is a proven sc gun. Picked buckley due to his position swap capabilities with hoge/goddard/ladson. Collingwood picked him up for a reason and i think he is in their best 22. Time will tell. Not changing anything till after NAB Cup

Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, Hunt, Ladson, A.Moore(Port Adelaide) Emergencies-Talia, J.Cater(Collingwood)

Rucks
Cox, Kreuzer Emergencies- Bailey, Fitzpatrick
Forwards
Goodes, Brown(vc) Reiwoldt, Roughead, Walker, Rusling(if his fit), Butcher

Heres the team I'm sticking with for a while.

Backs- Goddard, Enright, Lake, Hodge, Ladson, Maguire, Sheppard.

EMG: A.Moore and A.Silvagni

Mids- Hayes, Corey, Vince, Pavlich, Cooney, Cunnington.

EMG: L.Jetta, J.Dyson

Rucks- Ottens, Hille

EMG: W.Skipper, S.Mcnamarra

Forwards- N.Riewoldt, J.Brown, A.Goodes, Knights, Rioli, Medhurst, Gumbleton

EMG: Dennis-Lane, T.Walsh

To me I think that's a side that could go a long way the only weak point is Maguire in my mind but at 114,000 if he snags 70 a week with the odd 90 I would be a happy man.

Sheppard, Cunnington are both supposed to be young stars that are really setting the pace. Gumby is fit and firing at the moment and that can't be ignored at $100,000.

Tell me what you guys think of the side?
