Im a bit over people bagging the coach atm, posts saying we should tunrover the list etc etc.

I went to the game on Sunday and found it extremely depressing mainly because the corneses and burgoynes were so impressive and I wished we had that much talent running around.

Well maybe we have, it takes time to develop players and I think our list has the makeings of something special. I also trust in the direction and coaching ability of TW

Id' like to hear from people who support TW and his plans for the tigers future

i do agree with that to an extent.
there are times when the opposition will change their game plan or something along those lines and it seems that terry wont adjust to that and we end up getting killed.
but if he was right in saying that 15 goals came from direct turnovers then that is hardly his fault. that is way to many for AFL standard. if they are practicing their skills day in day out i dont see what Terry can do to stop those turnovers on game day.

I'd say about 90% of Richmond supporters would say something like this. But I always wonder, "would 90% of Richmond supporters be able to accurately comment on Terry's actual coaching on game day?" and my answer is a large no.

Personally I wouldn't have a clue for a majority of what Terry does on game day, there is no way of knowing the complexities of his plans and specific roles he gives to every player.

Us supporters sometimes get mad at losing and like to say "he coaches bad" but how the hell would we know?

Sometimes I wish we could accept that as supporters we are not in the position to actually judge a coach.

Great point, the players must take full responsibility.

15 goals from direct turnovers... it doesn't matter what tactics the coach uses when your players are that poor.

your right. alot of people including myself probably dont know how hard it is to be in his position. we criticise things that happen on the field even though they may not be the instructions that are given.
i do think that the people that are calling for his head are way to harsh. i suppose everyone has their opinions though.

i suppose everyone has their opinions though.

...and any supporter who has the opinion he should be sacked has an uneducated opinion based on emotive guesswork and thinking they know more than what they actually know.

If we all admit we know next to nothing about the intricate plans Terry uses apart from the title "run and carry" then there would be a lot less Terry-bashing.

I don't believe he is a bad coach. What gets me is that you just can't tell if he's speaking the truth. Everything seems to have a spin on it. His reputation at the dogs was that he could "sell" the gameplan brilliantly. The players truly believed him when he said they'd win if they did it this way. To me he seems different from those days. Maybe he feels he has more to lose now, I dont know.

All I know is from what I've seen publicly I dont trust him and it seems our players dont either by the way they're playing.

Is he here to make us great again or to bolster his credibility that has been shot since he abandoned the Bulldogs and was rumoured to have courted the Swans job before he quit?

by richmond fans i assume u mean. oppostion supporters wont stop on him.
i saw the post on the main board benny. waste of time IMO. its good to put it out there but all ur gonna get is the nuff nuffs who dont have a clue and just love to give it to whoever they can. and since we are on the bottom of the ladder, terry is an easy target for them.

I've been wondering...
Any of you guys that get to training or perhaps have some contacts within the club, what is the word with the players and their relationship with Wallace?
Do they respect him? Like him? Believe in him?

i liked wallace as a coach and after round 12 or so i was still being optimistic, and actually listening to and believing some of the rubbish he would come out and say, but the last few weeks have been absolute shocking, hes making stupid match ups so he has excuses for us to lose and then comes out with things like "it was for the future".

Thursfield will never play on Gherig in the future, not at the body size thursty is at anyway, exactelly the same with the raines and riewoldt match up, if those two players (gherig & riewoldt) were matched up better i think we would of won.

He also plays 7 man backlines and plays our biggest and most experienced backmen as loose men in defence (polak&bowden) if polak is ever going to be a class player for richmond then wallace has to open hes eyes and play polak 1 on 1 with the opposistions center half foward for the rest of the year.
Polak is not quick enough to be a loose man in defence, and hes foot skills also arnt good enough were he can run off and create down the other end of the ground.

Joel Bowden also can not play this crappy loose man in defence roll for the rest of hes career, he might be getting 30odd disposals a game, but were playing unexperienced backman on fowards who bowden should be on ... and those fowards are kicking bags of 5 every week, we may aswell move bowden up the ground for the rest of hes career, play him off a wing or on a half foward flank.

Wasn't Brian Royal brought to the club to help the players with their finishing skills? That clearly hasn't worked.

The coach has a major say in who gets drafted to the club and, as I said on a another thread earlier, you would think they would check out the skills of these players before drafting them. They've picked up too many players that just don't have the required skills to play at the elite level. Surely part of their training sessions focus on hitting targets, not just working on game plans and set plays? Some of the blame has to lie with the coach and his support team for bad recruiting, would you agree?

Benny...
Wallace has done nothing tangible....so how can your opinion ALSO be nothing but "uneducated opinion based on emotive guesswork"?
Where are the fact based milestones of success Terry has achieved with us?
Benny.....once you write....read your post as if somebody other than yourself has read it for the first time.....please

the coach can only do so much his game plan is good it works for a while but until we get a skills coach or something it will cost us.
an well will have alot of turnovers.

if our players hit targets alittle more we would be alot higher up the ladder.

his game plan is good an works, skills letting us down an him.

Our disposal will improve a fair bit as we get more run and stamina into the whole side - from midfield to the flanks. It's all about creating easier options more often.

You just don't get that with young kids and seniors who simply can't run like AFL athletes need to be able to these days.

Skills need to improve a bit also, but I think most people will be surprised how much better we look when our kids become genuinely fit men and the seniors treading water badly are gone.

Big Tw fan ! easy to jump on him atm what about last year wen he was the so called 'supercoach'
let him do his term and than see how our list shapes up
jumping off him not is stupidity

Wallaces 9th places were on the coat tails of frawley, now in his 3rd year he hasnt really found enough players to replace the ones that retired who are good enough. the best new player are from the rookie list and other clubs.
