I would only be signing Pettigrew for 1 more year, hopefully Trengove will be able to take over as our next best tall by then. Lets be honest, Carr is not in our next premiership team and should retire now. Great news about Surjan, especially after the rumors of him wanting a trade.

As for Carr, we might as well get what we paid for. Especially considering the lack of depth in this year's draft, we'd probably get a better player replacing him next year than this year anyway.

He has good skills, height and pace and has over 50 games experience - things that we need.

Play him in a different position and fix his awareness and decision making and we have a chance of a required player.

I think the club is trying to ensure as few players as possible are out of contract at the end of next season due to the Gold Coast getting access to one uncontracted player from each club.
