If Grundy is not cut next week then i'll be pretty damn ****ed off. He kicks 2 goals in the first quarter and then what does he do? He might of aswell sat on the bench the rest of the match. No, not just this week.. he's done this every week since debut. Gets some goals early and then goes missing.

Mind you they were all rubbish.. Bevo was probably worse then Grundy so he to deserves to be cut more so.

Adam Goodes had a decent game but other then that they were all RUBBISH.

We don't deserve top 4 and at this stage it's up for grabs for anyone.. even the Bulldogs.

Personally I thought Goodes was pritty bad too. I lost count of how many times he kicked or handballed towards the boundry or rushed a behind. You guys were out of soughts today but at least you havent been out of soughts for 4 months like us.

I agree, he was probably the best out of a bad lot but of alot of his kicks were ineffective..

Nick Davis will return.

Hell yeah Daivis will return.

The swans were AWFUL today, i'm not impressed. But i bow to the Geelong for a great game. Other than that, i'm not impressed. Poor kicking, poor decisions, poor disposal and poor everything. At this rate we can wave goodbye to the top 4 if we keep this up. The Swans are slipping...why???

.. and if we wave goodbye to top 4 then we can wave goodbye to back to back.

Yeah! If we keep this type of football, we won't be able to prove many of the AFL people that were can do it back to back.

My thoughts on the game:

The Swans played unswan like football. The majority of the players were terrible with the ball, they tried disposing and it ended up in no mans land, or into a Geelong player's hand. What were they thinking? Some were pratically dancing with the ball, trying to create something special out of nothing. I was pretty frustrated with the poor disposal from most of the players. They were far from their best. Barry Hall was awfully quiet becuase some of the players kept kicking over his head, not only, they overcooked their kicks and always missed their intended team mate. Their kicks were wayward...

I'm very frustrated, we gave so many free kicks, especially for holding the ball! Some decisions were probably a bit soft but mostly we gave free kicks through holding the ball.

BUT i was impressed with some players who played good footy. I'd have to single out Teddy Richards, Luke Ablett and Darren Jolly, and maybe Goodes?
Teddy Richards played well over last week and this week. He was great! Good at defensing and he kicked a goal! woot... go Teddy, he is starting to improve but can he keep it up?

Luke Ablett, what a star! By far the most improved player [to me]. He is such a great player but hasn't racked that much possession? but he was great to watch

Darren Jolly, outstanding. He dominated the rucking work, very effective taps. Doyle? I don't know, he wasnt that good and i think we do need Everitt in the side.

Goodesy? well.. he played better than other players but was far from his own best. He played well over the past month and was sort of down this week, but still it was okay...

Yup, i agree.

I thought Jolly was really GREAT. His taps are pretty much always to advantage and makes it easy for the Swans to get the clearances. He's just been super the past 5 weeks.

I thought Leo was beaten well in the first half but in the second half he played better and made some good spoils. Definately the free againest him in the 3rd was not fair.. Ottens totally threw him out of the contest. Leo was playing a much bigger unit, so i'm for what he did i'm pretty happy with him.

Teddy impressed me aswell for the time he was down back. He took some nice marks and helped release some pressure off the other defenders.

Hm.. Tadhg.. not good. He made some bad decisions and subsequently costs them 2 goals just from his errors. He didn't have his usual run off the backline, same with Leo as well. He didn't make any impact on the game, which is something we do usually get from Tadhg.

Baz.. he was playing? However, Scarlett definately held him and definately won the contest but Baz didn't get very good delivery at all.. but still, shocker of a game.

Bevo.. he was playing? Hm. Gotta go.

Grundy.. like i've said before.. he does he's goals early and then goes quite. He's not someone i want on my team. I'm hoping this was the end of him. I don't think he's a player we can carry. In saying that though, i think this week it will be either Grundy for Bevo cut for Davis.. Bevo deserves moreso to be cut though, so who knows?

Who else? ROK was okay.

Doyle.. argh.

I guess in a way i'm glad they lost now instead of later. This week can serve as a wake up call. Personally i don't think their past 4 wins have been all that great.. they have alot to work on if they are going to make an impact on September.

I agree with you! I don't think Bazz was playing at all! When he was near the ball..he stood there! i was screamin, he didn't even attempt to fight for the ball, or chase after a player. He was pretty stationary in his forward 50 line. Hally should be dropped! lol...some exaggeration there, we need him.

Tadhg, he did cough up goals for Geelong. Unbelieveable, i just think that sometimes swans want to play too smart which ends up like a turn around and eventually a goal for the opponent. Most of the goals were due to the swan's errors, poor decision making and being abit too creative.

Paul Bevan! hmm...but he's a good tackler, but i'm not sure if he will stay in the side for next week.

Doyle.. argh.

Lol! you described Doyle even better than me! it pretty sums up how he played today. ARGHness..

couldn't have said it better than myself. After this shock lost, it's definetley a wake up call for all of them. When they are watching their game on Monday, they're going to be thinking...how poor were we? And hell yeah, they've got sooo much to improve.

I missed the game because of work. thankfully we can get online updates but from what I heard I didn't miss much right.

Nah, you didn't miss much. Hally did even kick a goal nor a behind. It was a bad match, a match that should be forgotten. But you missed out how awful the swans were playing today. :(

ahahaha!!! I don't even have the 5 DVD pack! how badly i'd want to watch that semi final! memories. But if Nick Davis was in the team, did you think he could Savis?? to me, no. lol... the players were unable to drive the ball into the 50, well compared to Geelong's in 50s, it was pretty bad.

I'm not saying that if he played they would have won, but i definately think their would have been more a vibe. Nick would have come out firing and the booing would have drived him even more. I think he would have had a great day and who knows? I think it would have been a smart move to select him for this game.. but no, gotta keep him in the reserves.

O'Loughlin has been doing this for a long time, and nobody is calling for his head. 3 quick goals a game = 66 goals for the season = a good season by any current AFL player's standards.

Micky is a very talented and skilled player. He's hands around the ball are magic? Seriously, i love what he can do with the ball in their forward 50 and unlike Grundy he comes out of the 50 alot more and can have an impact on the game even when he's not kicking goals.

Grundy came out of the 50 a few times today and i was actually shocked. Mind you, he did nothing with the ball what-so-ever.

You can't compare Grundy and Micky.

Nat I respect your right to an opinion but please watch what you say in terms of puttin sh*t on the Swans....get educated about the game

Here are some facts for your Footy 101

Games Kicks Handballs Disposals Marks Goals Behinds Tackles Hitouts Frees For Frees Ag
Nick Davis
Total 12 115 53 168 68 18 16 27 1 6 8
Average 12 9.6 4.4 14.0 5.7 1.5 1.3 2.2 0.1 0.5 0.7

Heath Grundy

Heath kicked 2 today....Lifting his average even though he is a new player ... his goal return is already above N Davis average

Now that does not mean ND isn't a better player

Just GET OFF your obsession and high horse ... or immature facination or fantasy!!

Seriously mate, you're pathetic if you think this is because i like Nick Davis.. i want the better player in the team.

Grundy and Davis do play different positions. But for Grundys position he should be kicking more goals then that.. i don't care what anyone says.

Is there anyone left in the universe that you have not bleated that statement to at least many dozens of times

OK .... cue the music.... let's hear it .....again & again

if you think your bleating will make one iota of difference then you are deluded!!!

Tip: Grab the busser and dim the lights and stare at his picture on ya bedroom wall and get some tension release!

Are you for real? Pretty much every single one of your posts either don't make sense or are total garbage.. usually both of them.

From the Sun Herald today:

"Whether or not it's a good thing or bad thing [to have a bad game now] I'm not sure," Roos said. "Probably next week's going to tell. If we bounce back and play some good footy next week then maybe it's a better hiccup to have now than in the finals. But I don't think we're going to know that until next week. If we can bounce back next week it's only a minor hiccup. If we play poorly next week and get beaten it becomes a major hiccup."

Makes my head throb.

It makes my head throb too. Is this a sign? Does Roosy think we can bounce back? hmm...i hope so! :(

Basically the loss means we cannot match the number of wins we had last year. But considering the draw of Freo and Melb, I wouldn't say our top 4 dreams are over by a long shot.

Was it the loss we had to have? Time will tell.

I don't think our dreams of finishing the top 4 is over, but we're at the brinks. and yes, time will team. But i think Swans can bounce back...

Nope, we can still make top 4 but if we would have won yesterday then it would have been in our control. Now we have to rely on other teams losing and their results, which always sucks.
