Re: 2009/10

1. What is the Norm Smith medal? Is that the best on Grand Final day one? Yeah the young'ns have probably got one of those arranged over the last few years. But I dunno what it is.

2. I don't understand your next post. The stuff in the code parts of the first post are in there because that's where they are ... umm. ...

It's like our minds have a supernatural connection. Soon we will be finishing each others sentences.

Re: (archives) Sweet FA Match Results & Threads Hub

And I did try to bold the ?s in the code bits when I quoted it. So it probably would've been easier to understand had that worked.

Well maybe our minds' connection can stand in for my broadband one that just came back on after taking a two or so hour break. I guess I could have gone to sleep, though.

Re: 2009/10

These updates are the handy offshoot of the main project, which is collating ALL match stats, scores and player stats, for each game. The next release of Qooty will include the function I'm using now that enables the career stats tables I've put in the other thread. Work in progress :)

Re: 2009

Ok I did some hard yakka last night to try to find out when each season was played, which of course was simple for the first 6 or 7 seasons, but then became a brothel after that.

I found the following:
Season 07 2007 - 2007
Season 08 2008(1) - Nov 07 to May 08
Season 09 2008(2) - Jun/Jul 08 to Jan 09
Season 10 2009 - Apr 09 to Sep 09
Season 11 2010(1) - Jan 10 to Jun 10

So, what I've now done is started changing over the season numbering. Instead of numbered by year, each season now has an incremental number, and the year of play has been moved to a sub-title.

While I was under the impression that a number of recent seasons crossed over from one calendar year into another, research shows that this was very nominal. Seasons were vastly contained within one year each. Years had multiple seasons, but seasons didn't really have multiple years.

So, instead of describing a season as, say "2008/09" (because it finished in about Jan 2009), it is now described as 2008-02 (the second season to be played in 2008).

I hope that makes sense and doesn't piss anyone off too much.

I've also updated the clubs timeline in the opening post to hopefully correctly flesh it all out.

Anyone else ever notice that on three occasions, a club won a flag, played one more season, and then folded? A curse?

Nice work Mobbs, Mt Buller Demons were Season 11's Pre Season Champions...
