Surprised no one has started a gameday thread as yet or is it that none of us care about the game considering we can't finish any higher than our current ladder position.

I believe it will still be a decent game of footy and its during the day which we like especially at home.

Without Hall and with MOL under a cloud it will hard for us to kick a big score so we will need C.Bolton to confirm his AA selection by marshalling the troops down back and stopping the rampaging Hawk forward line.

If we can choke them up in the midfield again like we did in the earlier game at the MCG we should be able to limit their scoring opportunities and give ourselfs a much better chance of winning the game.

I personally think we really need to win this game to get some confidence back and prove to ourselfs that we can match it against other finals contenders.

Swans by 15 points.

I care, i wanna win! Unless we make the GF this will be the last time this year i'll get to see them play (well, if we get a Melb prelim then i may try and get some money together).

I think we can win. I know we may be missing a few key players but there's still alot of quality in the side.

Go Swans!

One of the Hawks mods started a gameday thread.

Anyway, this looks to be an intriguing game. By all accounts the Swans dont seem to phased on the outcome as their ladder position cant do a helluva lot of changing, while the Hawks will be battling for a spot in the 4.

Hawthorn certainly have the artillery up forward, but having said that, they love their space. The SCG and the defensive pressure of the Swans could expose this. Middle will be an interesting duel with Spida and Jolly giving Tails and Robbo a touch up last time. If the rumours are true, Jolly will be rucking with LRT.

Im backing my Hawks off the back of the thumping of the bullies last week. The way we moved the footy was the best ive seen for a while, and if Buddy Franklin gets his kicking boots on we are going to be tough to beat.

Hawthorn to win by 50+

Buddy to kick 7.7

Bet of the round - Melbourne Hawthorn Double 35pts and over!

Aw, i remember the last time LRT was in the ruck. He did such a great job! It was againest Fremantle last year in the H&A season at the SCG. I almost passed out when i saw him getting ready to go into the ruck.. haha, but he did very well. GO LRT!

I agree the swans were able to clog the space wel and not allow the hawks to get the free flowing ball movement going last time we met.

However I'm very worried about the damage Franklin could do he started off brilliantly against us last time and we don't have single player capable of going with him so if he fires we could be in alot of trouble. Having said that it's up to our midfield to deny Franklin and the other forwards (Roughead, Boyle ect...) clean delivery.

Should be a high pressure contest just what both teams leading into a finals campaign.

Could be one of the few games where I will tip against the Swans. But seriously, what is there to play for? We travel either way. Any potential opponent will go in as favourites. So it's clearly much better to rest the players carrying injuries (as we appear to be doing) and hold the cards close to the chest for the big push in a fortnight.

That said: I won't be going down from the sidelines quietly this week, and I hope the Swans won't either. Winning form is crucial at this time of year. A luxury in a deadish rubber like this game, sure. But still crucial.

Mate, don't worry, no team does!

Im pumped 2 be heading 2 the game on Sunday havnt been at the SCG since the Richmond vs Swans game
Nice 2 see we have some good players in hopefully in I/C will be good and we will have some fresh legs!

It aint over until that siren goes!

CARN THE BLOODS!

So, who do we think will be out of that lineup? I think Spider, Crouch, and Bazza.

I'm hoping no to spida as I think it would be not so good to carry the ruck all day the week before finals if we can help it. Having said that though it depends how bad his injury is.

I'm thinking if spidas ok I think it will be Crouch, Barry and O'Loughlan.

Could it actually be that no!, sydney are not resting players and takin it easy, but are gonna actually come out blazing guns against the Hawkers, blow them out of the water, shake it up and come into the finals on fire. At least in my dreams.:D Wouldnt that be freakin awesome.

for once Im hopin that LRT does come in and lay a blinder. god knows we need something like that. Put Reg Grundy at FF where he belongs and bring it on baby!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping this too, I want the club to win one final this year with and some momentum heading into it would be handy.

Our young side learnt so much in its previous encounter against the Swans.

It will be interesting to observe just how much. If we have we are a strong chance as our side is at full strength for Sunday.

We are playing to stay in the four and to have a double chance in the finals.

I have travelled down to Sydney from Coolangatta and possess the last ticket that was available :)

Your side has been strong over the last few weeks and with Buddy's effort last week (2.11 - OUCH!) he will obviously be the danger man. I wouldn't be too surprised or upset if we lose mainly because we have already cemented our spot. In saying that, even if we lose, I want to see the boys play Swans Football and we haven't seen them play like that consistently this year.

Leo Barry hinted were experimenting with some new tactics or whatever, but i could hardly wait and see what the Swans have to offer.

You sitting in Bay 4? Opposition supporters usually sit on that bay.
