Morrish Medal was on tonight, with Oakleigh's Jack Higgins winning it. Deserved winner.

This team is a joke really, so many not playing many TAC games and even if you count the Championships aswell how Andrew Brayshaw doesn't get in on that basis astounds me

Criteria is the best players from the TAC Cup & Under 18 Championships combined. Many stiff - but more so the kids that played every game and were very good (ie: Bernacki) over Cerra who played about 5 games combined for the year.

10cm taller and he'd go #1 without a doubt

Almost a similar situation as Caleb Daniel a few years ago, except I think Caleb Daniel showed even more skill, which was negated by the more cms he gave away from an average footballer.

Still, I think every footy club would love to have Higgins. He shows the best work ethic, fights hard all day, has a professionalism that is just crucial to succeed.Doubtful he'll become a superstar of the competition, but at the very least a reliable player.

Finals fixture confirmed for TAC, of course the big game I want to see more than any is the one stopping me from watching the first quarter of Essendon and Sydney :(

That'll teach you for supporting a team that makes finals ;)

What are you guys thoughts on who the individual sides put in their "best" on a week to week basis?

Would they be leaving players out of the best if they thought they were getting a bit ahead of themselves?
Or alternatively put players in who need a confidence boost?
Do they try to put players in the best if they want to put their name in lights for recruiting (even if they didnt have a great game)?

Just wondering whether its a genuine "best" or whether there is a bit more at play.

It varies for each team, could just be a player that does their job or someone that sets a PB on a certain thing in the game. So yeah varies by club and on the day.

Nearly every TAC team is full strength. Matthew McGannon is back from injury for Gippsland, with a national combine invite I'll be keen to see how he goes. Jordan Butts and Tom North miss with injury.

Both King Twins are playing this week along with other gun 17 year olds Riordan, Duursma, Walsh, Barzen and 16 year olds Rowell and Serong

As expected, Geelong well on top v Gippy. Floyd and Ling very good across HBF.
Lings run that set up Nobles goal was brilliant

I await DPS's stats, particularly Stephensons numbers.

Nathan Murphy carried off in sickening incident - but on crutches on the bench. Ankle ligament.

Been told it's not as bad as it looks, chance for next week/GF. Don't rule him out just yet.

Barzen v.good - Sandy very poor so far.
Ligaments aren't easy to get over, if he does play he won't be close to 100%

Barzen is a star, another quality player for next year. Walsh and Duursma where terrific earlier aswel

Bar patches in the third Q for Parish & Clark - don't think today's TAC Cup Finals have reached any great heights.
