anyone catch it? see the kid Bastinac's pick up in the last quarter. The kid Temel looked like a young Pavlich. Liba's son is a gun. Petropoulos did alright. ANother kid named Melkshem. Any of these guys in the top bracket of draftees?

Bastinac and Temel are the only 2 in the first round radar, and Bastinac is a half forward, so we won't be targeting him.

Temel has been highly touted most of the year, although the defense in the TAC cup has been very weak this year.

We do need another tall forward/ruckman on our list, so Temel might come into our considerations.

No absolute standout like Steele or Daisy from previous years though.

IMO Melksham is a possible first rounder, Bastinac a second and Temel will get drafted but he's not even close to being a first round pick.

Yeah Temel has had a very good finals series so he would be in most recruiters sights...

I could see us using our second pick on him, he is raw and has alot of upside so I would be quite happy.

I hope we don't go for a ruckman early. Just recruit a ready made one if need be but late. Pies should tell a good ruckman to play shit and we'll pick him up late.

We have sold our souls in drafts for ruckmen and we always get it wrong. Wood i hope will come good.

we need a key forward badly. I'd also aim for more midfielders.

Temel is very 1-paced. awkward running style and very 1 dimensional (only plays forward), could be picked up later in the draft but definitly not 1st round or 2nd i would say. Melksham was excellent this arvo, made a couple of errors in decision making but overall very good.

If i was a Bulldogs supporter id be liking my lips at the sight of young libba and wallis. Something disastrous would have to happen for the dogs not to draft these 2 in 2010.

i went to the same secondary school as temel and melksham and played in a few school teams and league rep teams together with them.

melksham would go in the second round at the lastest i reckon. pretty fast and reads the play well. also consolidated a place in caulder un18s team as a 16 year old so they rated him really highly.

temel i have more trouble seeing where he would go in the draft. he never played anywhere other than full forward in the school teams even though he was perhaps equal tallest in the team so he isnt the versatile type. hell i was second ruck and temel had a good 2 inches on me! hes a beautiful shot for goal but he has average speed. he is also a good mark. due to him being so tall i always found it easier to play him from infront which he doesnt seem to like as much.

How did Talia and Carlisle go ? I see them being looked at Collingwood's First round. Both around the 196 cm mark and both got great versatility to play down back and forward.

Agree with Chip, I'd definitely consider Melksham a late first-round to early second-round prospect, probably in a similar vein to what Luke Shuey ended up last year.

Any club can bid for Libba and Wallis.

They can bid all they like but we only have to use our picks after the bid which will be first 2 round picks, and with Gold coast in that will be something like 25 and 40 odd depending on finish for 2 guys that are regarded as first round picks, early second at worst, Wallis is regarded as probable top5-10 pick. They are bargains.

yeah melksham is the gun in that lot. has a few knockers but showed his best on friday night. very good at clearances, great vision and lateral movement and his kicking to advantage is outstanding.

Bastinac was v good. He and Casboult got them back into the game and Bastinacs clearance work was v good. he is more than a hf flanker. i still have him in the second round though.

Carlile is v good. Can play a number of spots and would be late first round or early second. Am a real fan albeit like Fri night can be in and out o fthe game a bit.

Temel started year as a CHB and wasnt real good. Moved and set it alight but whover made the comment that the quality of tall backs is pretty thin in the TAC this year is spot on. Still he is worth a look but suspect he will be Rd 3 or 4.

Others who will be in the mix from GF would be Casboult, Long, Kerr, Thompson, Pitt but all more likely to be rookies.
