Fantastic to see the Pies playing with true heart and determiniation at the moment sitting 4th with a record of 4-2 losing to only west coat and port (which we should have won).

No dought the improvment has come from the young group in the following:

Maxwell
Shaw bros
Cloke
Toovey
Dick
Cox
O'Brien
______
Tarks (have a great season atm)

I have dought the Toovey/Dick/Cox wont last the season and may tire, in saying this we have Holand, Bucks, Didak, Waiklin, Medhurt to all come back at some stage.

With some senior personel coming back into the side, it might be worth resting the kids in the middle of the season, and mabye focusing on getting Bucks back between rounds 16 onwards and stick him at FF to add another dimension up forward.

Interesting that Brown and Reid have not been given a go as yet.

Thoughts?

Dick and Cox may not see out the year, however Wellingham and Goldsack will be ready to take their places . Plus there's Davies and Cook.

I am getting more and more impressed by Toovey every week. He could play every game this year.

Other improvers are
Lockyer ( a revelation, even to the most ardent Tarks fans, he's exceeding all expectations)
Swan (type of player who improves as the season wears on)
Davis (played his best game so far this year on Saturday night)
Fraser (slowly getting his match fitness back)
Bryan (looks comfortable out there)
Maxwell (his spoiling is fantastic)
Burns (this kid has potential)

Any more serious injuries and it is gonna hurt. See Presti and Clement both with possible serious injuries, and Didak still under question mark? Young blokes need a rest eventually, especially first year players. Presti and Clement at once is a huge experience hole to fill, and the back line is where we can least afford to lack depth and experience. Maybe Toovey will end up down there for a while if these injuries don't pan out. Although I still don't think he is wiley enough to stop a Fev or a Hall. The heart and committment seem to be there but like last year the concentration can wane over the course of the year. I'm sure players like Thomas will be better as the season wears on for what they learnt from last year, even got blooded in a final.

I am more interested in Seeing Ben Reid and how we will stack up in our forward line. I just think there is still too much pressure on Rocca, hopefully Reid and Rusing will fill that void in the future.

For the record Mark Robinson is a complete TOOL for tipping us to come last this year, this bloke gets paid a 6 figure salary to express his view and sometimes he is completly off the mark.

Personally, the most pleasing aspect has been Pendlebury stepping it up this year. He is averaging 18.5 disposals (5 more than last year), 6.3 marks (1 more) and goals (1 more). The kid is a gun.
