I reckon part of our problem is we've got our best players playing a tagging role.

I would prefer to see Crowley and Carr running free instead of acting in a tagging role.

I reckon Dodd was our best tagger a couple of years ago and would love to see him back in that role.

Who else can we develop onto a tagger to free up our play makers?

Crowley and Carr aren't very good clearance players though. If they don't have pace and don't win the ball at stoppages what role do you want them to play?

They're both tailor made for run with roles IMO.

Can't remember Crowley hitting too many targets with his feet this season. His kicking has been woeful and he seems lost when he doesn't have anyone to play on.

Really needs a designated run with role to keep him in the game, and he's very rarely beaten when in one.

So no, I think he is fine doing that.

And since his knee operation/ injuries seems to have struggled in attacking roles, which is a real shame because he was very dangerous...

crowley is an excellent tagger..

it would be nice to have Haselby to play a true midfield in-under role and then have headland as an outside frontrunning midfielder.

very happy with crowleys tagging this yr, it was always his strength, i always thought he needed to be lead to the right spots by a gun midfielder where he would in turn pants them! think of his jobs on nick stevens in the past...no surprise no carlton have judd that stevens finally killed us in a game
