You act like Cox White and Keeffe is a competent forward set up.
I'm acting like we do have a forward set up (however competent / incompetent) and we pretty much don't have a back set up at all.

he evolved into a really good forward last season. I think him moore and Oxley and of course Jamie Elliot and faz can be a forward line that's very hard to stop.
edit and how could I forget Maine?

Like the backline, our forward line needs some players back from the medical room. Fas and Elliot especially . And the addition of Mayne means we hopefully won't need three talls.

And who the **** plays up front with Moore and White in defense?Add in Moore and White and that's not a massively bad forward line. Still think we lack a zippy forward crumber
What are you on about? And who the **** plays up front with Moore and White in defense?
Don't see why not. Played 17 games before being put out by a PCL injury. No soft tissue problems since his setback in the preseason. Provided he keeps up on his ballet program it seems as if his soft tissue issues are under control.Dunn ekk
Reid can he play all 22 games?
Be great if they could but I can't see it working with any of Cox, Moore, Keefe and White next year. Reid's our only capable swingman and he will not be swung!God forbid suggesting some players could play at either end from time to time
I'll take that bet.Don't see why not. Played 17 games before being put out by a PCL injury. No soft tissue problems since his setback in the preseason. Provided he keeps up on his ballet program it seems as if his soft tissue issues are under control.
If 2016 showed us anything it's that White doesn't have a defensive bone in his body.Be great if they could but I can't see it working with any of Cox, Moore, Keefe and White next year. Reid's our only capable swingman and he will not be swung!

When White played his first defensive game in the seniors it was so bad it was laughable and I'm fairly sure he was dropped the following week back to the reserves. From what I've seen he's only going to get a game as a forward cum ruck. Defensively a huge liability we can't afford. His VFL game against Carlton at Holden Centre playing CHB was one of the best games I've ever seen him play. Absolutely dominated and ensured we weren't overrun in the last quarter. Maybe you just need to take the blinkers off and stop assuming what players can't do. Could end up with another Sinclair on your hands.
Are you saying White could become a player who spends half the year every year in the sick bay? Didn't see him play back in the VFL so take your word for it. Must admit I'm finding it hard to see past the blinkers to Jesse being a good defender at AFL level though. Be huge if he could do this so worth the try... problem is we don't have an abundance of key forwards either so we are always going to be "robbing Peter"
Collingwood Melbourne 17/4/16.So which game was that given you recall it so well?
And wow, he failed at his first shot at the position at senior level with just about zero training for it... in a team that was flogged through the midfield... yeah, that's a clear sign for sure

Boys, can we pull a Sam Dwyer again but only in defence? surely there is some VFL,WAFL or something serviceable. That we can scrap up out of the minor leagues? I expect there will have to be some kind of play made.
Also... What the hell, Marsh! in our time of need of backmen! :/
#JesseWhiteDefenceConvo I don't like the sound of it, but really we just need to get more defence development into him.
He got smashed one on one.Yeah, thought so, the game where we got absolutely got smashed in the midfield. Can you tell me which of our defenders, you know, the guys who usually play there week to week, train for it, actually beat their opponent?
