Another Collingwood site is reporting that Tarks was told on Saturday morning (at recovery) that he will be put up for trade

O'Bree, Woey, Tarkyn should all be shopped around for anything decent.
However something like O'Bree for a 3rd round, or even 2nd round is a waste in a draft that is supposed to be shallow, it is trading for trading's sake. Trade for a youngish player that will be of some value for us.

For the last time, the draft is not shallow, nor is it weak. It is simply very even. It is harder to pick out the top order than it normally is.

However, that doesn't mean that the players picked between 30-40 will be any worse than they are any other year, which is what a "shallow" draft would result in.

out of O'Bree, Woey and Lockyer, Tarks would have most value i would have thought

im a fan of his, but really, anything goes at the moment, and if someone was to offer something worthwhile, well as reported in first post, the club will consider it

Tarkyn Lockyer is a decent footballer, but I wouldn't care if he got traded, unless the value given to us is decent. A 2nd Round DP or a young kid with potential. Nothing too old.

The following should be up for Trade:
Lockyer, O'Bree, Lonie, Woey, Davis, J Cloke, Walker, Cole, Johnson

Obviously only about 2/3 will actually be traded and the remainder retained, but I would have all of the above available for trade.

Lockyer is the classic player to trade. He is fairly well regarded at other clubs, considered versatile and assumed to have leadership qualities. In terms of Collingwood's list he is too slow and too timid. Classic MM good bloke. I'd love to think we could convince Freo to take Lockyer and Woewodin because they need leadership at their headless chook club and that we could get a good deal for them. Maybe the two of them plus our 3rd round pick for their first round pick in this supposed weak draft. Maybe we'd have to us e our second round pick.

Bottom line is we need to make fundamental changes to how we play and the best way to do that is to trade Lockyer, Woewodin, Morrison, O’Bree and Davis and then see who wants anyone else and at what price.

What would we get from Freo if Lockyer and Davis were traded together back to their homes in WA?

dunno where you guys get ur bull******** thoughts from! tarkyn maybe slow by foot but he is quick where it counts most, in the head! How many times have you seen him take the smallest, quickest forwards this year and he has never been beaten that badly! Before he did his ACL he was one of our better players, his form would have been top 5 at our club. Most players are unable to recapture their pre injury form for at least a year! Give the guy a break hard workers always come good and he is just that!

Watch the Collingwood Stkilda game? guess not...Milne ********ing slaughtered him and he then even refused to be accountable. He seems to like playing as a rebounding defender....but those players need accountability as well. Although I like Tarks...he is no great loss I wouldnt have thought.

u took the words right out of my mouth. however that is the only game i have seen him get towelled up in. he did destroy gary ablett jnr and pick up 30+ possessions at the same time which is a very good effort

Fair enough, but when I saw the words "never been beaten that badly" the visions of watching Tarks standing 10m off Milne and not even watching him come a contest (he is a crumber after all) came automatically into my head. It might be one of the few times, but jeez was it a towelling.

Has everyone forgotten that he's our vice-captain???

He won't be trade. End of story.

Agreed. Unless the club has told him that he isn't needed as a vice-captain next season, there is no chance that Tarks will get traded.

He was the obvious choice to take the captaincy in the absence of Bucks and Pebbles then, wasn't he. :)

How about Tarks for Dion Woods from Freo?

Woods had a decent year last year hasnt played since round 4 this year as he fell out of favour but could give us some pace out of the half back line.Has quite abit of talent.

The fact he is vice captain is irrelevent.....

Have you forgoteen that he is slow, rarely beats his man one-on-one, and cant take an contested overhead mark. When was the last time you can remember Tarkyn having a major influence on a game,or even a quarter?

Time toget real people. We need to go forward and this present midfield wont take us there

If he were to be traded to Freo, I think younger guys like Ryley Dunn and Daniel Gilmore should be more the way to go. Not sure how they are rated at Freo, but I believe they are playing quite well without being able to crack into the Freo side. Before I get howled down, James Clement couldn't get a game there either :p

More than likely Medhurst :(

Few rumours going around over here about him! But yes, only rumours.! Hopefully he stays there!.

yeah milne shmilne! i remember that game, but most of our star studded defence looked ordinary that day! its the mids fault! And i bet that tarks gets teh job on milne again he'll dominate him
