There has been alot of talk of Tarrant not being suited at FF, why not playing him as a CHB?! I personally think that our forward line woudl fnction perfectly fine without taz at all in a couple of years time! Moving taz down back for the second half of teh season would be great to see, he has all the physical attributes to be a CHB (he coudl maybe put on sum mroe muscle) its just whether or not he can get his head around it! Given that Wakes will retire sumtime soon and that clement isnt getting any younger i think it be wise to invest some time in a possibl future CHB. Heck we are not going anywhere this year why not experiment!!!

i would like that i have thought the same thing have his run out of the backline, then we could have prestie wakes clement and tarrant downt there and play clement on some small forwards.

his skills r good enough it would be awesome to see i think.

i would wait till we get rocca back i think coz we miss a strong mark down there atm and thats with tarrant down there.

Please! I was a big fan of Tarrants work rate and endeavor, but I feel sorry for the crap service he has been copping as of late. A buckley return should help all of those problems.

But against Sydney he really lost it, really had no impact and rarely does on big matches. I think hes useless enough now as it is at CHF let along CHB where he actually may need to be accountable! Chuck him on the ball for a half, then back in a pocket if things dont work. After all, your season is stuffed so may as well try things out.

Anhow, what would I know?

Get Tarrant a goal kicking coach and leave him where he is. He averages at least 3-4 set shots at goal a game (this season) from within 55 metres. If he kicks straight then Collingwood win more than they loose.

Barring that trade him to get a top 3 pick (plus another pick or player) in the draft.

Comparison with Chad Cornes is worth considering. Chad up forward showed similar skills to those that have him doing so well at CHB. But he was shockingly wasteful shooting for goal. I'm sure the club worked on his goal kicking but even recent efforts show it's not his strength. Yet the same height, strength and speed see him as an excellent defender.
Now Caracella has added some powerful goal kicking stength for you why not try Tarrant down back? Perhaps release Clement up forward.
Just don't try any of this till after this week.

Tarrant does need to kick the crucial goals. Mick Malthouse was right to have a go at the time keepers at the end of the game against Sydney, but maybe he should have focused on the Tarrant miss at the end of the third. That was the crucial miss because there was no play after that and so therefore the last quarter would have been played out exactly the same.....and Collingwood wins.

Too much focus on his kicking. When was the last time any of you lot had a ping from 40+ down the local oval. It ain't all beer and skittles!

Noone gets stuck into Riewoldt's poor set shooting, especially from distance. Not everyone's a natural, or has the right build.

Fortunately Riewoldt can play his brand of roaming HF, while the Urine Monkey can be the official "goalkicker". Taz dun have this luxury and cops all the heat.

Taz's best role is a Riewoldt style role. Simple as that. We need our version of the Urine Monkey back (ie Rocca)!

Tarrants kicking is no doubt his weakness! and i dont think a goal kicking coach wil solve that problem! i think teh problem is a mental thing and it will only be rectified with time if at all, just look at richardson! That is why a move to the CHB posi could be a good move for teh future, alternatively a hff posi suits him just fine! My inspiration for this was chad cornes, and that worked out great! I dunno i feel sorry for the guy, coz he has all this pressure on him, just releave him of the pressure of kicking a bag and i reckon his whole game will improve! not everyone is made with the ability to cope with extreme pressure!
