i'm honestly so happy to read that article. Shows that tarrant is really upset about the past season and is going to come out firing next year, and that will definitly, 100% be for collingwood, and for years to come.

Hopefully this shuts up all the trade tarrant rumours. He ain't going ANYWHERE.

Was happy with the article too. Tarrant will make all Australian next year and im putting money on him for the Brownlow. He is due for a big season if we can fix our midfield problems. For those of you that dont understand how to play footy, you need quaility midfielders who can hit you on the ****** 50 metres away, not at your feet or over your head...

Get off Tarrants back

Out of curiosity, how many out of Chris Tarrant (knee), Anthony Rocca (achilles), Alan Didak (irregular heartbeat), Josh Fraser (knee/illness), Travis Cloke (general soreness), Cameron Cloke (shoulder), Chris Egan (general soreness) and Sean Rusling (collarbone) were playing that week?

The only players in the side that day that would actually definitely get a spot in our forward line if all of the above players were healthy were Blake Caracella and Nathan Buckley, if he was playing forward at the time.

Out of curiosity, that day, did Adelaide even have 8 players injured, let alone 8 forwards? I think not. Also unavailable to us through injury, in addition to the above 8 players included Rhyce Shaw (knee), Ben Johnson(thigh), David King (knee), Tristan Walker (ankle), Richard Cole (broken hand) and Brayden Shaw (ankle)

Malthouse's quote about selecting the side that week:

"We've got to play (the kids). I had 24 (players in all) to pick from today. They've got to get up next week (against the Western Bulldogs at Telstra Dome on Friday night). We'll do what we can to get them up."

There was 2 healthy players that didn't play that day: Andrew Williams and Julian Rowe, who had been dropped to work on his kicking.

Yeah, you're right, I guess that loss shows that there's no way we could improve.

Thank you,

You saved me 5 minutes... :thumbsu:

But hang on, Adelaide were plagued with injuries to their leaders for most of their season too...

For the sake of repeating myself for the 10th time in my entire 60 or so total posts... Tarrant = superstar when fit = will not be traded... Leave the champion alone...

I find it amusing having a crows supporter rip on the Pies forward line. Adelaide has a good backline and good midfield but has probably the worse forward line in the top 8 this year. Well West Coast's wasn't much chop either but they did have an injury or two. The pies forward line next year will have Rocca, Tarrant, Bucks taking the best 3 defenders.
Then you will have Josh swap through there, Caracella and Didak will drift in and pick up the lower backmen, and look out if T. Cloke and Rusling have good pre seasons. I think it will be a good forward line that will worry all teams next year.

Our issue will be pace in the midfield.

Experienced observers at the Copeland said Tarrant's speech was the highlight of the night and had 'leadership' written all over it (hasn't been fully reported in media at this stage). Gave a bit of optimism for the faithful on an otherwise sombre evening.

exactly. shows that you dont need a great forward line to be a good side (west coast/adelaide).

so where is your midfield? non existant.
