We can call him the Black Knight - apt, really, as he'd coming from Collingwood...

"It's only a flesh wound." :D

lol. ok seriously i don't think tarrant really has a kicking problem.
With tarrant at a new club now, and new coaching/training staff etc, he will be awsome.
His confidence will be resurrected. And that's the answer, simple.:thumbsu:

He can't kick for ****. He had the best forward coach teaching him and he still kicked horrible.

What best forward coach was that? I doubt he was the best if he couldn't get results.

Tarrant is a left footer. Name me the great accurate left-footed forwards of the competition throughout history. It'll be a list smaller than the ratio of left-handed persons in the general population, I believe. Sumich is the only one that stands out for me, and I thought he was a great kick, but WC fans pounded him for his accuracy. If you ask me he kicked a lot of points because he backed himself from anywhere, and took the shot regardless.

Being left-sided is what it is... a decided advantage against defenders who instinctively expect you to turn the other way. It means a lot of people have a preconception that your kicking style isn't natural, and personally, and I don't know why this is, I believe left-footers use a little more-hip rotation than their counter-parts- and generally cop 'raking' as a direct result of the extra carry afforded.

But on the whole it means that people think you kick worse than you do.

Maybe Heath Black can coach him

i bet you are a left footer.

the left footers stick up for each other. They also believe that they are vilified because of the foot they kick with.

Would his kicking improve next year by simply playing for the dockers, in other words being in a team that will provide him with the ball, on better angles, under less pressure???

We have the WIZ for difficult angles!:)

i'm sure he'll get his Kicking boots back be interesting to see how he will play against his old side and if they give him any treatment alot of attention
like some clubs seems to do when players leave for another club

Looking forward to the draw to see where and when we play the pies and tigers.

Not sure if his kicking will improve at our club. Polak's hasn't, though Tarrant's action looks much better than his. McManus's has. Medhurst has deteriated.

I guess if we get better delivery to him, improving the angles, that may improve his kicking for goals marginally, but he is one of those players who can miss from anywhere.

The reality is that we are not looking for a goal kicker per se, we are looking for an improved forward line structure that will demand the ball in quickly, and then convert. Tarrant's role in this will mainly be linking up and getting the ball quickly to the finishers in Pav, Murphy and Farmer, who all are very accurate. Of course he is going to kick some goals, but if you expect him to be our leading goal kicker then you badly underestimate our other forwards.

Yes, exactly... and Chris can do that with ease

Matty Lloyd is a fair shot for goal.

Does Kevin (The Stroker) Ball still work for the club as the bio-mechanist? I would rate him a better shot for goal than Carey. And I invite anyone to prove me wrong.

I'd also rate Kevin a better kicking instructor than Carey.

Get Tarrant to work with Murphy on his set shots and Murphy to work with Tarrant on his leading and recovery.

Haha, good call. You're working towards the Super-Forward, and if you managed to achive this, we'd have someone who plays very much like the big Pavlova.
