Well, reports are Tarrant allegedly smacked some guy in the face after an altercation. Considering the recent Farmer situation and prescribed punishment, If these allegations are proven true - how do you think the Club should deal with it:confused:?

Barra just said on 6PR that:

• A Darwin AFL official called Damien something noticed Tarrant "exposing himself", and went over to tell him to cover it up. He got a smack in the face and a black eye for his trouble.

• FFC have just put out a statement saying they are investigating the matter and won't comment further until they've finished their investigation.

If the footy club are consistent, Tarrant might get a little holiday for that.

In: Murphy

Out: Tarrant

It seems Tarrant can't handle his piss. I Hope murphy makes the most of this.

That was a well known fact before he came to Fremantle it was also well known that his all round attitude and kicking left a lot to be desired. Would be a big plus if he gets dropped for a few and Murphy regains his place in the side which he should never have lost.

Get real. He has "no priors" at Freo. He's not on suspension (Farmer) or injured (Polak and Dodd); he was out with his team-mates (and members of the media by the sounds of it); the game was over; he hadn't been told to "stay away" from that nightclub; he didn't make himself uncontactable after the incident; he wasn't charged with anything....

For sure - give him a strike and put him on notice that the "next offence" will incur a 2 week ban (or whatever), but just to drop him, just like that, is mad...

I think Murphy had some really average preseason form so I think it was pretty justified in dropping him especially with players like cambell doing well.

It will be great to have somone with the ball in their hands who you actually give a 90% chance of kicking most set shots. I get nervous when Tarrant has a set shot.

IP once again I couldn't agree any more with what you have said.

How long until either GJ or Belk come along??

I feel sorry for the people Tarrant did this to and i feel sorry for the many LOYAL supporters of the Dockers for having to go through so much with undisciplined players .Some of my family are Dockers fans and members in WA

Your just a big bundle of sympathy aren't you?

He has to miss the carlton game if the reports are true. Sure he was out with team mates and it's his first offence at Freo, but what a d1ckhead if what is reported is correct. If he's mooning girls in a nightclub just hours after our season has gone down the toilet, then punched a middle aged bloke for telling him to settle down he has some serious problems. And it wasn't some drunk old tosser, by all reports he's a respected sporting identity in the top end who was just trying to keep the peace.

It was a bad trade in November, it was a bad trade a week ago, and it was a shocking trade if the allegations are true.

Hang on Tarrant has said to CS that his version of the events are different. Don't you think we should wait until the club gets all the details so they can make up their own mind. All we have so far is a media statement from someone in Darwin saying they don't want to take it any further,

Is anyone else confused by this, why release a media statement if you don't plan on making it a bigger issue??

As for saying it's a bad trade that's a load of crap. Tarrant has been one of the best players week in week out for the club and I am delighted he is in Purple

I wish he would drop his pants during some of their games. Would certainly give us something better to watch :)

I was just going to say the same thing. No need to jump to conclusions, wait till we have all the facts before we jump into it.

Settle down Dominguez.. don't confuse two seperate issues here. Tarrant has been a good trade, on field he's been very good.
This is his first alleged d!ckhead incident and your ready to write the whole thing off.
By your calculations the Farmer trade must have been a bad one as well.

mate he was pissed of course his VOE would be different.

Making a media statement publicly shames the person involoved.

IMO this whole darwin trip is turning out to be such a debacle. It must be the tropical weather or something.

I've got one word for you - PUBLICITY. Isn't the guy some kind of politician or something? Wants to get elected? There's no such thing as bad publicity and what will get your ugly mug on the front of a paper faster than telling a tale that Freo 'bad boy' Taz hit you, especially when you were trying to do the 'right thing' and pull him into line.

I agree with IP - Tarrant deserves a chance at Freo, there have been plenty of players who have had more than one indescretion and haven't copped a suspension. Fine him if you like or even give him a suspended sentence.

Maybe we could initiate a MRP for off field incidents at the club? You'd have to take into account the timing (pre or post game) venue (banned or allowed) and the victim, as well as the offence itself. Could be quite interesting I think.

Tarrant's form is a minor factor in my opinion on the deal. Pav's still getting double and triple teamed and we're sitting 5 and 7. Tarrant was recruited to win us a flag, that looks unlikely so recruiting him was a bad decision.

We now have to decide between Murphy and Campbell because there isn't room for Tarrant, Pavlich, Solomon, Campbell and Murphy in the same forward line. I would rather have the 8th best kid in the draft + whatever we could have got for Medders + Campbell and Murphy inside 50 than Tarrant. In three years Campbell and Murphy will both be better than Tarrant, atleast one of them will be at another club, and we still won't have won a flag.

Tarrant gets the yips in home and away games, how's he going to go infront of goals under finals pressure?

One positive thing about Tarrant being at the club is that the Connolly fans can't say we overachieved last year, because by trying to buy a flag Connolly told the world that we should be in the top four.

Going to a locals nightspot when your away from home is not a good idea when you've just played & suffered a decisive defeat that wrecks your season. A few of the pissed game spectators will almost certainly turn up at the same premisies. It's the same anywhere where footy players publically known figures go - there's always going to be a group of pissed locals attempting to rile up the footy players. Harvey got king hit from being by some coward who ran away after.... and now the alleged Tarrant thing. I just feel the club could've perhaps avoided this somehow. We travel every second week. Surely there is some team protocol in regards to going out after away games to avoid these situations.

I just hope that those with responsibility for dealing with this matter dont have the same forgiving attitude that you have. It doesnt matter that he has "no priors" at Freo the fact is that he has a poor disciplinary record particularly where alcohol is involved.
He should be suspended for at least two weeks with an appropriate fine and I am confident that a punishment of some sort will be applied.

i) Farmer cost a hell of a lot less at the trade table.

ii) The Wiz is a lovable larrikin, no one knows what Tarrant is like because the only person he talks to is Solomon.

iii) Farmer's a great kick for goal.

How do you know that he dosent interact with the team of coaching staff? Your making him sound aloof to the rest of the playing group & footy department.

Yes there have been plenty of players digress over our history, our culture has been shithouse. Farmer was our line in the sand. If you want to play for the Fremantle Football Club you need to be professional on and off the field. Whether Tarrant was verbally provoked or not, hitting middle aged men when you are hammered after losing a game of football we should have won is unacceptable.

Connolly found out about the Tarrant incident from Thommo when he made his cross from the top end to channel nine.
