Pretty scary stuff - people talking about trees exploding. I was in Tasmania last week, travelled through Bicheno and Freycinet national park on Thursday, just before the fires started. The satellite map from yesterday evening:

617172-nasa-rapid-response.jpg

Been outside a few times here in Hobart. Still very smokie. Its even coming through the air conditioning in the office I am in. Stinks quite a bit.
Just heard a bus load of people are being brought to Hobart from Nubeena as I type.

Yeah the haze and smoke is pretty strong, it's quite humid outside as well and currently 27 degrees.
I'm looking forward to the much needed rain tomorrow!
