Surely they have to dominate the Huon Channel first.... Kingston Crows have won 3 flags in a row, with half their side former 2nd and 3rd graders from the Knights, so I doubt Slab would have a competitive side...

The TCA board and clubs would reject that in 5 minutes flat, 8 teams is an ideal number for a competition like the TCA.

Slabs side would be more like a Houn Side Called Houn but be Base at Slab they have the Money to buy Players and that maybe the door would open for them if the Townies and the farne joined ?

i cant see it happing here But Slab are really keen to enter a diff Comp Brad thomas is coaching em maybe thats the start 1st got to get pass the TCA what abt a 10 team comp

Well yes, they need the votes of the TCA board plus clubs. Does Slab Road have turf wickets??

10 teams - Probably not in the next 10-15 years that would occur, IMO.

They need to win about the next 5 flags in every grade in the HCCA, then install turf wickets, then get the apporval of the TCA, then have one of the other teams pull out. Also can't see players wanting to travel from Glenorchy, etc, it is hard enough to get a team to travel from Kinsgton... Also, the TCA seems to be very much a city competition, which is probably why New Norfolk and Brighton don't have teams...

Deano is a champion ..and a top bloke to boot ...he may even carry your team to a premiership ;)

wtf is with this Dunn bloke making 31 ...were they bowling underarm or something ?

This Dunn bloke finally learnt how to bat! But his bowling... well...

Correct about Deano, very hard man to stop when he is on song. Dont want to get ahead of ourselves though... one game at a time!

TCL A GRADE

ACL 2-117 (N.Ferrall 61*, T.Huggins 29, P.Lambert 23) defeated
Legana 116 (N.Faulkner 40, J.McClenaghan 20, D.O'Neill 4-28, N.Ferrall 3-17, T.Huggins 2-7)

ACL upset the top side, which leave Bishopsbourne with a chance to win the last 2 games to take top spot. ACL keep their slim chances alive also.

Hadspen 6-187 (G.Petty 65, D.Hawkins 45, P.Donohue 38 ret hurt, M.Dunn 3-23, R.Dolting 2-34) defeated
Bishopsbourne 8-184 (R.Gregory 43, S.Prewer 41, R.Eltringham 33, M.Eltringham 20, G.Davern 4-53, S.Murray 2-38)

After receiving news of Legana's loss, Bishopsbourne still blow the chance for top spot, and maybe blow the double chance altogether, while Hadspen secure 4th at ACLs expense

Trevallyn 9-164 (A.Blackberry 41, E.Hall 29*, S.Williams 28*, S.Belbin 6-15, D.Clayton 2-18) defeated
Uni-Mowbray 49 (D.Whybrow 3-7, S.Williams 3-13, D.Bailey 3-23)

Uni-Mowbray looked good to complete a bad round for the top 3, after having Trevallyn 9-107. Then Hall and Williams batted out the overs to post a more than competitve total, which was far too much for a mostly uncompetitive Uni side.

Beauty Point 8-172 (N.Tahiri 54, B.Carbone 25, M.Brown 22, N.Van Dongen 3-43, C.McKay 2-8) defeated
Beaconsfield 7-168 (C.McKay 55*, P.McKay 21, S.Freeman 20*, B.Carbone 3-22, J.Savage 2-25)

Launceston v George Town - 90 minutes...that was all that was required to send George Town into submission. In almost similar circumstances to the Grand Final in 2003/04, the Saints simply succumb. Launceston (not surprisingly) wrap the minor premiership up. George Town - THE ANARCHY CONTINUES!!!

Westbury v South Launceston - South's season clings on thanks to Paul Bunton's 5 wicket haul and Westbury's inability (once again) to bat for long periods, they were 0/56 at one stage. South hit the winning runs with 9 balls to spare.

Mowbray v Riverside - Mowbray take a major psychologial advantage into the Semis with a comfortable win here, although the last wicket didn't fall until 5:10pm.
(NB: Riverside followed on by the way ;) )

Next 2 rounds of matches - Round 15 - Saturday 3/10 March
George Town v Westbury at Crothers Oval - Win for Westbury "should" seal 4th spot
South Launceston v Riverside at NTCA 2 - All or nothing for South, outright is the only option here to once again keep afloat for 4th.
Mowbray v Launceston at Invermay Park - Should be interesting here, Mowbray always competitive against Launceston, but the Lions should squeak home.

Now, Round 16 is a 1 day fixture on Monday March 12
Westbury v Mowbray at Gunns Oval - Talk about pressure, this one will be huge!! Westbury must win their last 2 to snuff out South.
George Town v South Launceston at George Town - Who'd know what will happen here, George Town could even forfeit this one and I'd still be not surprised
Launceston v Riverside at NTCA 1 - A replay of last year's semi, where Launceston narrowly prevailed, they should do the same again!

OK, heres the ladder after Round 12 (provisional)
Wynyard 181, Ulverstone 179, Sheffield 111, Devonport 99, Latrobe 97, Burnie/Yeoman 88

Wynyard sucures a home final after a masterful Ebdon century (and the best of the season) plus the Blues tail wags once again!

Devonport gets into 4th after a scratchy win over Latrobe, Latrobe in danger of throwing the title away.

Ulverstone show their true colours with a hard fought win over Sheffield, thanks to Messrs Leary, Blair, Bott, Walmsley and Pearce :D

Now - The final round (Round 13) - Sat 3/10 March
Sheffield v Latrobe at Sheffield Rec Ground
Ulverstone v Wynyard at River Park
Burnie/Yeoman v Devonport at Les Clark Oval

TCA Round 13 Results - And were there some interesting results here!!

North Hobart 3/23 v Clarence 8/309 (dec)
Now, the story goes like so. Heavy rain on Friday night delayed the start till 1:20pm. After 15.3 overs, the umpires called the game off due to a dangerous pitch.

Now - I'm not normally one to give the umpires a serve...but..Why did they even try and play in the first place?? There was massive wet spots on the pitch and they played!! Totally f***** unbelievable!

Kingborough 381 def South Hobart-Sandy Bay 190
Kingborough - Clark 133, Turnbull 63, French 51, Scott 50, Polkinghorne 4/49

Kingborough certainly have livened up the Semi Final series, especially beating the premiership favorites. Excellent partnership by Clark and Scott (the two old grandpas :p) saw Kingborough seal 2nd spot.

University 79 and 2/82 def New Town 105 and 55 outright
New Town 2nd Innings - Roussow 19, Bakes 6/24
University 2nd Innings - Lister 50*

University are charging, and charging hard!! And unfortunatly for New Town, the horror show returns with the bat.

Glenorchy 189 and 4/33 def Lindisfarne 155
Lindisfarne Innings - Boucher 42, West 3/34, Geeves 3/36
Glenorchy 2nd Innings - Anderson 28*

Glenorchy seal 3rd spot with an ugly, but effective win. Lindisfarne condemned to the spoon.

Ladder after Round 13 - The top 6 that will be contesting for 4 spots that is...
1 Sth Hobart Sandy Bay 66
2 Kingborough 58
3 Glenorchy 48
4 Clarence 42
5 North Hobart 40
6 Tasmania University 36

And next weeks all important fixture - 2 day matches - 3/10 March
Sth Hobart Sandy Bay v Clarence at Queenborough Oval
Win will secure top spot for the Sharks
Lindisfarne v Tasmania University at Lindisfarne Oval
Nothing less than an outright is Uni's requirement to qualify
Glenorchy v North Hobart at KGV Oval
Back to Back pennants on the line for the Demons, must win game
New Town v Kingborough at New Town Oval
A dead rubber really, Kingborough to warm up for a solid semi final hitout

This game was supposed to be plyed before xmas, but got rained out and rescheduled. Last thurs night, apparently the HCCA side only had 6 willing players, with the only necessity that the player had played A grade this season... They couldn't get a side together, and most of the good players in the league did not play, so i don't think this game was a good indication of where the leagues are at. I am not saying that the HCCA is a better standard, but this game is no indication of which league is better. I would like to see the list of who played for the HCCA, cause C Hevey would definitely not get a game if it was our best XI.

Get both leagues to play the NTCA and the NWTCA and they'll see precisely where they are at ;)

I agree that the NTCA and NWTCA would prevail, but they are 'city' leagues and are not secondary leagues, hence the 'TCA' part of their name...

OK, I probably misinterpreted the post, thinking of which was the second best league in the state instead of Hobart:confused:
