Cant really see EC getting over the line againts the powerfull Giulford line up.Good to see Benny Lehner swapping over to have a game also saw umpire nick foot the other night have a kick... looks in Red hot form is he playing mighty magpie

Yes Nick will be playing i had a kick with himn the other night to help him prepare for the game and he is ready and raring to go so should be intresting to see how he goes for us. Also Kempoz Kings i have heard that rosny has got a strong side as it has in recent years any big names playing for you blokes? You going to pull on the boots for the game?.....

Also just on the EC front All this talk of gary hayes has gone to his head. He was seen walking around school today talking to various females saying how he is "the one" to do the job on James chalsworth in the first game against GYC and Jack Riweoldt should he play in the second game against rosny. Should be very intresting to see how this battle pans out but i am going to have to say charlesworth and reiwoldt should have it easily over hayes. Deffinately worth coming along to watch the game next wednesday

its a frightening prospect, and AC is not alone as a walk in starter to senior footy at other clubs, what about a Brock Nightingale, Clinton French or a Nathan Matthews to name a few

You will find the team that wins Premier League Reserves would beat all regional league teams and 3-4 of the Premier League seniors. Classic example with Glenorchy this year and Clarence last year. Clarence 2's had Doyle, Toole, Skeggs (dropped for the GF, the other two played in this years senior flag) playing in their P'ship. Throw in Noel, Standen & a host of other very good players.

Where is Clinton French from up north? Polled well in the B&F, 5 best on's

I've done a bit of research on Clinton French.

Resides from the North West Coast, playing all of his underage footy at Ulverstone FC, under Ulverstone legend Max Brown who has coached them to numerous premierships and Nathan Howard ( Ulverstone legend - Ex devils captain )

has definately made an impression early in his first year in the SFL, rising young star to be looked out for in "07"

heard the rumour that several other SFL clubs have offered Frenchy a fair piece of cash to pay them with his services next year... can anyone clarify on this?

Hi guys,

I don't follow Aussie rules much, but I live in Hobart and found myself in this thread somehow.. anyway, I recognised the name as I work/worked with his sister, and she has told me about his playing with Glenorchy. All I can tell you is yes is from the NW coast (Penguin). I will pass on any other info I am given :p

I was speaking to Riewoldt about G Hayes and he has informed me that he will be the toughest opponent he has played on in SFL/VFL/national champs/mariners the whole lot.
EC in alot of trouble!

Colin Garland is a superstar and will smash whoever he plays on.
Except Brendan Midson the little rat he is

Examiner reporting today that the NTFA will be investigating the brawl after the Under 19's Grand Final. "Three Longford players were apparently King hit while trying to shake hands with their Rocherlea opponents" " One player had four teeth knocked out and required dental work to repair the damage"
The Rockheads president said he believed the two spectators involved were not associated with Rocherlea.

To me this incident should be a Police matter and assault charges should be laid if proved.

OF COURSE THE SUPPORTERS AREN'T ASSOCIATED WITH ROCHERLEA!! The Rocherlea chief was got too much arse covering to do!

Enough said, let the investigation take it's course!! I agree totally with getting the Police involved wherever necessary, just a f****** disgrace! And also, almost all of the Rocherlea players should be charged for bringing the game into disrepute!

Did he play any senior games @ Ulverstone??

Gary Hayes will outshine anyone on the ground.. No one could possibly have as much skill and speed as this young jet.. Look out for him in the Devils squad next year..

I completely agree _13_ .. I think Hayes should play in the midfield probably lining up on a sam fielding or an Aaron joseph if he plays! Garland can restrict Riewoldt easily if he plays back .. Rumours have it that Steven Howard from huonville has something to even up with Kempoz .. He didnt want to elaborate on why but should be an interesting match up if it goes ahead!

The NTFA brought in a rule undeniably aimed at the Rockheads, with Premiership points lost with each proven umpire report in the Under 19's. Unfortunately Deloraine lost a point for verbal umpire abuse moving them from 1st to 5th on the ladder and allowing the Rockheads to move into third and subsequently the Grand Final - points deducted from this debacle should rule them out for next year at least.

I don't know how Rocket could be unpopular with anyone, he is a top bloke and at the end of the day, footy is about winning senior premierships is it not?.....reserves is just that - reserves.

Very true Old Boy, but surely some priority should be given to ensuring club harmony?

Few other thoughts/piece of gossip from the Bargester:

1) Cleo, Chris Russell would have to be 37 at the very least. One of the great Pearton's of our time, is Rusty.

Wilbur35 is wondering does he still stink?

Or has he discovered the wonderful world of personal hygeine?

2) Where do you get tickets for the Big EC-GYC Blockbuster on Wednesday? Sounds like a must see!

When are the GYC teams published?

Starting prices?

3) Heard Plapp's name mentioned during the week as a possible Claremont player next year? As the late, great Gorilla Monsoon used to say on the wrestling "Highly unlikely in my book!"

4) Tim Green isn't your average Reserves Player - only played 2's in the GF due to a dodgy hamstring.

Can't see that Glenorchy 2's side beating the Sharks either.

5) Heard from a VERY reliable Central Hawks source of mine in the last week or so that Adrian Burdon and Justin Rainbird are both among the coaching applicants for Season 2007, and could be joined by the much sought after Sean Salter!

Oz, over to you......

Moose Lewis was offered $25,000 to coach Triabunna. Anyone else hear this and if so will he sign.

Already stated that Darren Clark is confirmed as Triabunna coach for '07

Have heard that both Burdon and Rainbird were interested. There have been very informal chats with both of them. Justin was at the end of season dinner when he was spoken to, but was probably a bit too merry to get much sense out of. Official applications hadn't been received last I heard, but apparently that will change. The Salter bit is something I haven't heard.
