I want them to get their own team, but it needed to be at the expense of a Vic club, or 4.
It will be interesting how Tassie builds its list, but us having some dealings with them/trades could help pave the way to get Zemes and Salopek. And also stop Tassie from bidding on them.
They might take maybe 10-15 picks in the draft the first year, which means they will have 25-30ish spots for established players.
With Bergman uncontracted, unfortunately his compensation if he went would be given to us in the future years, not helping us in that particular draft year, so he doesn’t help.
Butters trade would help but we’d need to get a Bottom 3 -4 side to take him, or extract their pick to get enough value to get ahead of Tassie. It would be a gamble.
They have to trade 5,7,11 and 13. But I think pick sliding for them would be fine. Ie we trade them a player like Todd Marshall and upgrade our first, from say 14 to 11…?
