Got to be happy with his 1st game and looks not too far off fighting for a regular spot. Fantastic goal which showed composure and class to first beat his man before slotting it from 50.

Generally looked comfortable at AFL level and seemed to have time but obviously needs to find a bit more of the ball. I think he could be a future replacement for Wojak or maybe even a little more forward similar to a Zaharakis type winger.

We certainly seem to have a few good outside players for the future. Hogan, Duncan, Taylor Hunt and Varcoe seems to all be coming along nicely.

Was good...I always said he's Wojack MKII. Will probably not hold his spot when all the injured guys come back, but he's one for the future for sure, and I reckon he'll have a big year next year.

What he did looked good but he did very little so I will reserve judgement till I have seen him a bit more.

Congrats to the Cats. One can only be very happy that Geelong is still bringing thru these kids that look likely to make the grade , considering the picks they have had for a few years now. Given time and games they look every chance to be or future because Duncan , Simpson now Hunt all look to have a bit of game about them.

If we can give a game or two to Menzel and Bundy sometime this year I will be overjoyed.

You're a hard man to please these days Turbo! :D

If you look at the champion data he had 52% total game time so he did well with the time he had on

Quite impressed. He looked composed, his skills were fine, he has a great frame & build for footy and we didn't really see his electric pace so there is more to come. When he backed his pace to break away from the tackle before he bombed the goal - exactly the stuff I want to see from the guy.

Wow, then it was a good effort by him considering he played about half a game. :thumbsu: ..I don't see why they just didn't bench mooney for him and create a mismatch with his pace on schofield (at least until they moved schofield anyway)

Reminded me of Melbourne's Scully, could have been the army cut, thought he applied himself to the contest and looked the part.
If the second shot was a goal we'd all be raving, still a very good prospect.

Loved how hard he was last night Fletcher tried to bump him and came off second best and all his tackles seemed to stick.

Thought out of left field could he play as a tagger when the capt eventually leaves the side seems to have good pace and is tough enough to do the job or will he develop into a winger busting the lines?

Hard? The kid is just feeling his way , he certainly looks to have enough to persist with. Varcoe's current form is evidence that persistence with talent is worth the short term pain. The thing I do like is he is willingness to tackle ,to put body on body. He has pace , he looks to have footy smarts. Long term , could this kid be our new back pocket post Wojo or could he be a replacement for Ling as a tagger?

Really has looked like a great future player.

How long do we think he will remain in the seniors? I would love to see him get as much game time as possible and develope him. Probably ahead of Hogan, as his speed and disposal remind me of a young Wojo before knee issues. Any idea if he will get a few more games before being omitted.

On the same boat, What would the chances of Mooney not being right for 25th and Mitch Brown getting the call up ;)

I doubt he'll play against the Saints cause Mooney, Corey and Scarlo will probably be back from their injuries by then.

I'd love to see Mitch Brown too cause he's from Cheltenham, where I live, and I've had mates who have played against him who spoke highly of him.

makes a few errors now and then and lacks some awareness. But I think the more games he gets the better he will be. Certainly should be a future regular player for the club.

Sometimes he does bite off more than he can chew with the ball in hand, but I love how he attacks the game. Obviously won't stay in much longer, but clearly 2011 looks like we will have a good young player coming through here.
