The player must ultimately agree to the trade, contracted or not, but ESPECIALLY when contracted.I found it interesting that the "journo" wrote that
"...under trade week rules, clubs do not need a player's consent to swap him for another player or draft pick."
I was under the impression if a player was contracted he needed to agree to a trade.
They can't be forced to sign a new deal if delt to another team, and I'm under the impression that they have to before the deal can be finalised, for SC purposes.
When contracted, yes the player must agree, at least that's my understanding. It's also harder to do and SC comes into play big.
