I started to think that Gibbs is still somewhat unproven and that Tuck is proven player that shouldn't attract any tags this year. Took Goodwin over Johnson - thought Goodwin would get more cheap marks.

Obviously still got problems with his groins etc. Didn't fit in with the rest of my strategy to pick durable players.

Fantasy footy media has made it a lot easier for nuffs to pick good teams. Let's just hope that the nuffs trade away.

Why didnt you select them from the start?
I wasnt sure of lockyers role. Even in the NAB the roles he played varied alot and didnt give me alot of certainty. I also didnt want to jump on someone because theyd had a good NAB cup either.

I was similarly worried about role with SJ. I think he generally scores best when he plays closer to goal - unlike most - as i think he can still get plenty of marks and kicks without having to drift up the ground. IIRC in the PS there was alot of talk from geelong about him playing more outside gthe 50 - i didnt see a great increase in possessions from this, but i did see a bit of a decrease in goals scored. I also already had gia and pavlich locked in, and i didnt have the cash to get him instead of goodwin.

I have corey, but for the extra 10-20 ablett or bartel would of netted me a fair few points early. Im still confident corey will bounce back, and he has been the most consistent overall in the past two years or so.

Why do you wish you didnt select these players?
Raines obviously because he got injured! Cant do much about this though.

Buckley also injured, and the extent of it is still a little unclear. Hopefully he can return next week.

Pavlich has been underdone in the first 3 rounds, scoring around 80 each time. I picked him because he statistically appeared the most consistent, I didnt buy into the hype about knee troubles, and also because for my alternative FW premium (deledio) I had worries about tags. I think deledio will be a gun this year though, and im regretting this decision. Pav>Deledio and Corey>Ablett with the extra money before lockout would have netted me an extra 80 pts so far (plus what deledio scores over 80 today). This is alot!

Cloke im ok with thus far, but the bad games do put you off. Hopefully rocca can return and free him up a bit more.

I have no idea! Id probably like to finish top 2500, but Im not very experienced in the trading department so i will just take it as it comes and hopefully have a real crack in 2010.

What have you learnt??
Don't bring in underdone Premiums. Also the importance of not starting too many rookies - while most of the teams that have scored very well in the early stages have had 3-4 rookies starting, i cant imagine where my team would be at nor how many trades i would of used if i had of started hill and picked broughton instead of suban (easy mistake really). Would of had a few donuts and a few trades down the drain. But, i think starting two rookies in the mids is very wise.

i'm feeling confident he'll play seniors next week vs Melbourne.

i remember i posed the question a month ago... if Coughlan were to miss the first 2-3 games, will you still buy Mark Coughlan? everyone said no. i was adamant on YES because he's a gun capable of 90+ (potential keeper) and the fact that he was only 176k made it fairly easy to accomodate. even if he doesn't reach those heights, he's still underpriced and could gain 100k for me. it was a good risk - differentiates me from everyone else too.
