What have you done for a team building day at your place of employment or what have you organised for your work to do?

Looking for some ideas or good activities or day out.

The good thing with my office it doesn't have to be all about 'team building' just a good day away from the office.

Suggestions or things you've done.

Did the usual go karts at my old job, it was pretty decent

Its good for newer employees to meet middle management or people in other areas etc I think. If you have an established workforce I dont see the point, just hire 2 new secreteries a month before the christmas party and that'll provide enough office hype

We are an office of about 15 staff, have done things like the zoo, Sovereign Hill & a day at the races the last 3 years. Something like that is what we're looking for.

Another one of our offices have done "The amazing race' type of activity or some sort of cooking thing.

We’ve done a couple where you spend the day doing some kind of charitable project, then dinner and drinks afterwards.

We’ve built and landscaped a garden at a homeless shelter, cooked meals, put together bikes for disadvantaged kids, stuff like that. The kids loved it.

Everyone works together on something, gets to feel all warm and fuzzy for a bit, then you all go and get pissed and have a laugh. Good days. Contact a local charity, they’ve always got shit for people to do. Everyone donates money but not many donate time.

My mums office did an amazing race type deal (ORS, if thats where you work by some chance ) and said it was one of the coolest things ever. I'd love to do it myself. Do that, hire me for a day so I can join in.

Just lay down the law in a team meeting; be particularly harsh, but provide free cordial

God, I couldn't think of anything more cringeworthy than being 35 and going to the go-karts with your office "mates." Ugh.

Booksellers generally aren't in any sort of physical shape to take part in any other form of team building than drinking.
