I was bored so I thought I might come up with a team that will probably be Team of The Decade (2000 - 2009) at the moment:

Robert Harvey, Wayne Carey and Gavin Wanganeen played the majority of their best football pre-2000 so I didn't consider them. Peter Bell, Simon Goodwin, Mal Michael and Daniel Kerr unlucky to miss. I couldn't think of a clear stand out back up ruckman (maybe Primus, White or Lade) but Goodes can play backup if needed.
I tried to make it balanced with three key defenders/forwards and three small-mid sized defenders/forwards.
By the end of the decade you might expect Franklin, Ablett and Bartel to be in but they are still young and I don't know who to bump out.
It's amazing how many people forget just how good Tredrea was. He was a superstar at CHF and is a certain starter if a team like this was officially picked.

But as for a backup ruckman Lade would be close, has been good for many years.

R.Harvey and Wanganeen played their best football pre-2000. I couldn't think of a clear stand out back up ruckman (maybe primus). By the end of the decade you might expect Franklin, Ablett and Bartel to be in maybe but they are still young and I don't know who to bump out.

Hard to argue with any of those selections, fantastic effort!

If he keeps playing the way he does he will be a definate starter by the end of the decade but he has only played 2 years of real quality. Lloyd, Tredrea and Brown have had 5 years of real quality.

Pretty good team (I'd argue the captaincy all day long though). Leo Barry sticks out, he really does get owned up a lot of times the last 3 years. I would think James Clement has been the stand-out multiple purpose defender of the decade,

Can't argue with that, looks pretty good to me. Leo Barry looks to be the weekest link in the lot though not sure who i would put in though.

Good effort. Would like to see Kerr in there for his performances over the last few seasons, but probably hasn't done enough to knock any of the other players out.

Haha. This was the last position I was trying to fill and they were two players I was thinking about. I chose Barry cause Sydney have had the best defence in the AFL for the past 4 years and I thought they deserved someone in the backline. He's won a premiership and he took mark of the decade so thats the why I chose him but I'd be happy to swap Jimmy Clement for him.

Yeah, he's been good but I rate Buckley, Voss, Black, West, Judd, Cousins, Goodes, Riccuito, and Hird ahead of him.

top effort id probs switch buckley n black mainly just cauz black sticks out more than bucks as a wingmen. And bucks was a true centremen and id have hird captain but a fantastic effort nonetheless.

Good job overall. I just made a few changes.

Put Hird to HFF for Brown and Judd as starting R/R. Definately deserves to start.

Very good team, amazing that judd and cousins cant even get on the ground and kerr cant even make the team. Not saying that any of these players should be in there ahead of anyone else. maybe judd or cousins on the ground instead of black. Both of them are freaks. Black is a very good consistent player but i wouldnt say he is as freakish as those two.

Nigel Lappin very, very unlucky.

Has had a couple of injury-affected seasons (06 and 08) but was the only Brisbane player to make the AA team in each of our GF years (01-04).

Was close to AA selection last year as well.

3 premierships before he even peaked as a footballer not enough to be CHF?

Reckon Brown might be a 5 time premiership player by the time he hangs up the boots.

I'd probably have Milburn instead of Barry.

Clement maybe. When did the Pies pick him up? His time as Freo would definitely detract from his selection.

Great effort though. There's only a few others I can think of that are unlucky.

I'd probably bring in Richardson for Tredrea.

Brent Harvey unlucky, but if you're looking at team balance there's only a couple of guys he could realistically replace. Aker and Johnno are better players.

Lappin, Bell, Crawford unlucky.
