Don't forget Ratten, Pagan and Brittain as there have been 7 coaches since Parkin retired in 2000 and not much stability. However the wheel appears to be turning with the retention of Voss as the old Carlton of the 2000s would have sacked him.

Won't be long until they sack Voss.

Both sides are a few tweaks away from being good this year but it's an even competition and a lot needs to go right in order to surge up the ladder. It's clear Melbourne were stale under Goodwin and King will be a breath of fresh air.
