Coach Carlton and Michael Voss - where to now

Whoever suggested Pyke needs to shut the hell up. He is doing a great job at WC and must remain there as long as possible.
It's wonderful to see a Fremantle supporter being so magnanimous and supportive of West Coast. Truly a testament to the Australian spirit!

Because he can't coach.

There was an article which mentioned when he arrived and how he sat down with the players and asked them what kind of game style they would like to play.

At the time I thought who the **** cares what the players want. You're the coach, you're the one that has to come up with the game plan to bear other teams game plans.

Voss is utterly clueless when it comes to that aspect of the game.

He's the league's easiest coach to out coach.
He didn't really say that surely?

He didn't really say that surely?

According to the article he did speak to players about game play/style.

This isn't the exact article but it points out he's asking the players what they felt would be important. I mean who cares what they think, that's one of the biggest problems at the club, they care too much what the players think and let them control narratives.

Rather than working out for himself what needs to be improved, he got his insight from the players and then was going to implement their views.

"Voss underwent a long and thorough process of speaking to his playing group individually in his first few days at the club, feeling out where they were in their career development and enquiring about what they felt would be important to move the side forward. From there, he gleaned a better insight into what needed to improve and how quickly that improvement could take place."

Shit coach.

Ken Hinkley's cunning plan to white ant other clubs with his useless gameplan claims another victim.

St Kilda
Carlton

Next Chad Cornes to coach Western Bulldogs.

He's in big trouble. They've got a good list that should be competing for top 4, yet scraped into finals and lost their only final.

The spine is probably as good as they get, Jones, Weitering, Walsh, TDK, Cripps, Curnow and McKay. I really can't think of a team with a better spine.

0-4 means top 4 is already essentially out of the equation (barring a massive run of wins).

Again, like many many teams this season, fitness appears to be a problem. I can't recall a season where i've seen so many teams with players absolutely cooked in the third quarter - particularly this many games into the season. Have the game plans got even more demanding?

My understanding is that the number of weeks that players are available to the club and the numbers of hours in those weeks has been declining under bargaining arrangements. This may well mean that the difference in fitness levels comes from player discipline and commitment outside of those (not saying this has never been the case but perhaps it matters more now than previously).

This suggests that clubs need to recruit players who generally show such discipline and commitment and then create an environment where players want to do that extra work for a sustained period of time.

S. Pete

He’s gone, tonight’s game against port has to be the final straw.

game is already lost, and season is well and truly over

Blues president went on Blues Abroad to talk about the club and it was remarkable how obvious it was he sees Carlton as a business and not as football club.
Is that true? How do they go from a guy who stood down because an inappropriate picture was shared on his socials to now having a president who publicly identifies the club as a 'business'? I find it really hard to believe there isn't a passionate Carlton fan out there who has the skills to be a competent club president and views it as what it is - a football club.

A fish rots from the head.
