One change was definitely the way to go.

A couple of weeks at Bendigo will hopefully have wet Leroy's appetite for a big one.

Will the Irish sensation in Quinn hold his spot in games to come or will he get pushed out by Mcveigh, McPhee when he returns etc

Like the look of your side though, very quick and attacking which is the sort of structure you need against Carlton. Goodluck!

That is highly probable.

I tipped the Blues twice last year, and got towelled up both times.

Learnt my lesson though

Really looking forward to this .

The first Essendon game to be shown live over here , 10a.m start . Just got quick highlights of the first 2 rounds .

Great to be able to see the whole game , and get a real feel for how the team's going .

I recon you have done the right thing going with all out pace against our mob. Who will relieve Hille in the ruck? We should dominate hitouts late in the game and during changes it would appear.
Houli would have to be unlucky. Do you recon your coaches have realised that Lloyd can't play any other role appart from traditional full forward? I think Lucas and Lloyd need to play blinders in their traditional positions, dragging Waite up the ground is a bad idea, ask Richo.
On paper and form Carlton should flog Essendon but the favorite nearly always loses these. This could be a good exciting game at least for a majority of it.

Well, there are places you can find the games to download if you have no qualms with that and have an internet plan that allows you to download that much. Not that I encourage that sort of thing, nudge nudge.

However the game against Port Adelaide wasn't that great anyway.

Agree that dragging Waite up the ground is a bad idea but to say Lloyd can not play any other role otherr than FF is just getting sucked into the media circus.
Lloyd played up and back last year and after a slow start in the first 6 weeks really found some form. He had a great game against your mob in round 13 last year playing at half forward.

I like the change to bring jetta in, hes been put back in the reserves to build his engine up. When we drafted Jetta it was always our goal to put him in the midfield, enough of these 8-10 possesion games with a goal or two, its time for jetta to stand up and get a heap of the footy. Theres no doubt when you look at those lineups Carltons midfield is far more mature and out and out midfielders then ours are. However the reason I honestly believe we can pinch this game is when you look at genuine pace in both sides. In the carlton squad they have Betts, Judd, Gartlett and maybe Joseph. We have Lovett, Davey, Winderlich, Zaka (He is fast), Dempsey and Jetta. When we get the ball we need to play on we need to get the ball to these guys and we need to play at break neck speed, it is the only way we will be able to beat them in the midfield. I have a feeling this is Knights plan already so good luck boys and lets make it a good fight!

Carlton has Judd, Betts, Garlett, Joseph, Grigg and Russell(top 3% for pace at draft camp) who will be just as quick or quicker than their likely opponents.

Russell might run with Stanton after tagging Johnstone last week

Simpson, Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer and Robinson have good agility and run hard which is more important than pace.

Joseph has the pace and agility to handle players like Hooper, Rioli and Davey.

One tough little Tasmanian who fought his way back onto the list. :)

Won't matter who will relieve Hille. Particularly late in the game when we have the game sewn up. :thumbsu: ;)

Houli would have to be unlucky..

Not unlucky. One word - defense.

I know historically these games can go either way but I think our defence looks a bit thin. Slattery Betts match up worries me alot.
Hopefully the boys prove me wrong its a tip I am happy to lose.
Come on the Dons!!!

You lost all credibility by mentioning Russell twice in the one post. Quite possibly and as described by many Carlton supporters i know as the worst player in the league. On your way champ.

The only bloke on sat night that can catch Lovett is Dempsey and he plays for essendon also. If we spend sat night having foot races then we win. Unfortunately we are playing a game of football instead so any speed advantage means jack if you cant win the footy or turn it over too much.
