Re: Team vs Geelong - Taken from Main Board

Disappointed that Mayne hasn't been recalled. Would've liked to see McManus sent back to the Gummies, but otherwise okay.

If Des is just 50/50, I wonder who's the likely one to come in for him?

Brock is on standby for Des. Freo always have at least 1 change so I'd say he will come in.

Agree with this.

If Des is only 50-50 today I doubt he'll be 100% come Friday plus Brock could of played last week really. Harves also seems to like to bring a kid in under the radar like Ibbotson last week.

Expect to see Brock running around crashing packs!

don't get me excited...
I'll go Big Kev on you all if my buddy finally gets his first match for 2008....:D
erm.. I don't mean dying, just very excited

I like the look of this team; seems well balanced.

I managed to catch the ins and outs on Sports Tonight earlier. Ten Melbourne showed stock footage of Headland running around at training... alongside Troy Longmuir and Luke Toia. 5 years ago. Unless of course I missed something in the off season and these late changes are the surprise Harvey has in store for Bomber Thompson.

Re: Team vs Geelong - Taken from Main Board

Either way playing him in the WAFL doesn't make sense.

If you believe he is going, why not show what the kid can do so we can demand a premium come trade time.

If he is staying, then let's develop him.

All I know is he is a better ruck option than Gilmore and Johnson.

The problem though sabre is that we need to use him in the ruck for close to half the game if selected. Happy can play other roles but unless we play Warnock in the pocket having him play 4 x 5 minutes in the ruck would severely limit our rotations.

Notice that Geelong have dropped West (2nd ruckman) meaning they are gonna run so no sense in us carrying 2 ruckmen on Subiaco.

I'd prefer having Warnock instead of Sandilands for this game.

Re: Team vs Geelong - Taken from Main Board

Sandi dominated around the hitouts last week and deserves to play as first ruck. It was particularly encouraging that he seemed to be developing some chemistry with Palmer and we saw the first signs for many a long time of improved takeaways. I wouldn't be messing with that.

Mumford is a ruckman, so that makes two with Blake.

I wouldn't get rid of Sandilands.... first of all oposition fears him, 2nd of all it's the roving that needs improvement.... only can get better by match practice. Hopefully the big man's marking will go better this game.

can some tell how good is ibbotson, where he play if he is good or not thx
