Teams

3 of the 4 teams made really suprising decisions.

Mackie out is an interesting time to be sending him a message, given he's been poor for a fair while now. A round 17 rocket/omission would make heaps more sense. I guess with Sandilands likely to spend some time up forward they need Longeran in the side.

Dogs bring in a first gamer into a finals game for the first time in 20 years or something like that.

Swans drop White and Beven (3 goals last week). Was expecting to see Moore out, McGlynn in.

Interesting stuff. Here's hoping an unchanged Freo side dishes it up to the Cats.

How good is it going to be watching these teams smash the crap out of each other this week while we have the break? We should win the elimination final every year.

Interesting changes, especially at Geelong.

Mackie out, wow, it's almost crisis time down at the Cattery when they are dropping one of their favourite sons.

Next thing you know they will be bringing Rooke in for his first game all year next week (please).

The Dogs are limping into the second week, while Sydney get a premiership forward in Bradshaw and a very good player in McGlynn back, Sydey should win.

I'd like to see the Swans win fairly easy, so they could test the Aints next week, and see the Cats struggle, or even lose.

Ditto on this.

Although I'd pick the saints as a grand finalist, I feel Sydney has the potential to cause an upset to them. It was early days but they were damn good against them at the start of the year.

With that said... a Sydney Pies GF? Unlikely. If it happens I'll get the victory tatt b4 the game. :D

Will be interesting to see how Daniel Bradshaw returns, and it's nice to see Freo have gone with the same team that beat the Hawks last week, i hope Sandilands is Ok for their sake.
I'm worried to see that Pod's is back for Geelong.

hang on... A. Mackie? isn't he one of wallsy's A graders?
I'm starting to doubt that guys football opinion :D

I'm convinced there'd be no spot for Mackie, Hunt, or lonergan in the Collingwood backline. they'd be handy magoo's.
They should revisit that debate, because our backline is much better, and full of A-Graders in their positions.

Mackie will play.

This is the new tactic clubs employ now. Tell the papers they wont play, give the player a scare, make him an emergency, then at the last minute, Lonergan 'doesn't come up' and Mackie plays a blinder.

It's called being 'Brad Sewelled'.

I think Mackie will be a late inclusion, considering they were missing their run off half back last week make this decision surprising

Haven't been watching his form in detail but I rate Mackie one of the best kicks in the league. Stupid to say he'd be handy in the magoo's. Not saying who he would replace in our backline, but the guy is certainly quality.

righto.
well his form has been rotten, that's why he's not playing in a semi final.
and the main point of my post was that wallsy gave them something like 14 a graders to our 3.
mackie would be last picked, if at all, in our back 6.

Mackie/Toovey

There is serious contention on that 6th place, if we had mackie. Lonergan and Hunt would crash and burn. Toovey beats his man week in, week out.
Mackie would be a bit of polish coming out of defence, but thats not the way we play.
Anyway A graders don't get dumped for the semi finals, that's my point. they're thumping freo, so he probably doesn't get back in.

and re: the thread point. i definitely got it. Awesome that we have the week off, i just figured the thread wouldn't last long if thats all we were saying.
