Terrys Triangle is working fairly well, no coomplants here.

When Schultz hits form and gets over niggling injuries it would be intersting injecting the lad into our forward line.

4 tall: Richo, Simmonds, Stafford & Schultz with Brown and Krakouer could put the odd goal away:

However, Wallace has earmarked him as a CHB which again will be a challange for the lad. With Hall playing well he will be pushed to the 3rd tall role with Gaspar at full back,

However a backline of of Gaspar, Hall, Schultz & Kellaway is very tall, even with Newman & Hartigan.

What a tangled web we weave.

simple, he doesnt get back in until he deserves it...whilst the current talls continue to do the job, he wont get in, we'd be too top heavy

Agreed but if he is playing good footy in the 2's and the side is winning?

Even at the TD or a good day at the G?

Looks potent on paper:

Simmonds Richo Krakouer
Schutz Brown Stafford

What about K Pettifer he has been playing good footy . he would be very unlucky to be dropped :)

Petz aint going anywhere. This kid has stepped up to the plate and i for one am glad he has. Gives our forward line another dimension, not to mention the kid is a BOOMING kick!

Agree. Every time he gets a bit of he ball we seem to do better. He sets them up and kicks some too. Well done Pettifer

Yeah he looks to have come good. :)

Still looks abit soft.

Rapt to see Pettifer doing more but agree with Bentleigh that he is at times pushed off the ball with incredible ease. Would love to see him a bit harder and make more than one effort at the contest.

Definitely too soft, but at least when he gets it he can kick it straight.

I'd like to see Schultz back in, but I think we won't see him until someone gets banned, injured or dropped. Maybe in instead of Patto if Stafford is still out?

Duties of a forward line
1. Kick goals
2. Prevent the oppposition backline from setting up play.

That forward line would see the like of Chris Johnson getting 30 touches and carrying the ball almost all the way to their forward 50. You only have to look at the run we are getting from Newman, Kellaway and Bowden to see how important it is to keep the half-backs in check.

The presence of guys like Karkouer, Deledio, Tambling, Brown and Pettifer is important because of the defensive pressure they can bring. Having Richo, Stafford, Schulz and Stafford at the same time could be a big problem.

It is exacly the same as out current forward line bar:

IN:
Schultz

Out:
Pettifer

I think we have the perfect balance at the moment with the 3 talls and 3 small-mids, it makes other teams change their structure to match us.

As for Jay, I see him perhaps taking Grahams spot when he gets some form up. Right now Graham is playing as a utility off the bench, spending quite a bit of his time up forward. Jay could play that role giving a big body off the bench to play down back if the matchups aren't working, or pinch hit up forward when one of the talls needs a rest.

Went to training today and Schulz trained very well. Rarely dropped a mark, kicking for goal was top notch and was training down forward. Maybe Terry has decided to let him play in his natural position, even if it's just for this week. He would come in I imagine, with Stafford out. He didn't train at all basically. Was in the rooms for 90% of the day. Still looks stiff on that heel/ankle.

Pettifer was also playing fairly well last year up to when he got injured, playing mainly in the backline. I think it is reasonable to say the team was struggling then.
