Am I the only one who gets frustrated with the incorrect use of the most simplistic of English language? Alternatively, being a 33 year old, have I missed something in the generational teaching gap that could possibly mean I am just out of touch? As such, I pose the following question to the more astute BigFooty members.
When did "then" become the replacement word for "than"? I add to my question as per the following examples, which have become common in most threads in recent times.
"Player Y is better then player X"
"Our team is better then yours"
To those who find it an insignificant, petty thread I do apologise. I just feel that with the current lingo being used in the AFL by commentators ie; quarterback, zone defense etc, do we really need to become fully subordinant to the USA way of life? After all, we are better than (then
) that...
