Wow, nine out of the top ten most anticipated games are sequels. And we wonder why innovation is dead in gaming.

I'd say because the original has built a fan base so the expectation is there. Original titles will need to start from scratch so no wonder that magazines concentrate on the big names.

Again you laugh at Killzone 2. Yet you never answer why? Just makes me think you're an idiot.

First one was overhyped and rubbish.

Second one is going down the same path. Halo 3 was the same thing, except KZ2 won't have the multiplayer to save it.

im mainly looking forward to the dlc for gta and fallout but here goes from that list.

Killzone 2 - played the demo and was blown away.
batman arkham.
cod: mw 2

Have you seen anything to prove that? Because the one thing that this game WILL have is a good multiplayer, that is just about 100% guaranteed.

1. StarCraft II: I'm taking holidays when it comes out.
2. Mass Effect II
3. Bioshock II

What a year for sequels eh!

Didn't really know where to put this, but this seemed the more appropriate thread.

But the debut(Teaser) techdemo look at the CryENGINE 3 has been shown, the Crytek engine made specifically for consoles(More specifically the PS3 and 360), no games are attached to use it as yet.

Certainly can see that it isn't as good as the CryENGINE 2 used for Crysis, but it isn't too bad, some looks average-poor(Texture pop-in, shortish draw distance, poor framerate, etc.), while some looks great(Lighting in the jungle, foliage reaction, water, explosion/fire effect, destruction looked alright, etc.), but still IMO it doesn't beat what Killzone 2 brought to the table(And what Uncharted 2 looks like bringing).

CryENGINE 3 TEASER VIDEO
Crytek, the developer of Far Cry and Crysis, announced earlier this month that its in-development multiplatform game engine CryENGINE 3 would be shown off for the first time at Game Developers Conference 2009. Now it's GDC week and we've got an exclusive sneak peek at Crytek's CryENGINE 3 trailer.

According to Crytek, the trailer features both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 footage.

The video is meant as a tech demo only, so the fact that it features nanosuit-clad soldiers from Crysis running around doesn't necessarily mean anything concrete. It could just be that Crytek recycled some of its existing assets. No titles have been officially announced that will be built on CryENGINE 3 as of yet.

What do ya think Biggy?

LA Noire (anything by Rockstar is generally just good)
There has been NO info on this game for the longest time, I think the last rumour was a 2010 release, nobody knows if it is still PS3 exclusive or not either.

CryENGINE 3 features, fully detailed(HEAPS of info on the source page).

CryENGINE 3 FEATURES IN DETAIL
CryENGINE 3 is the first development platform for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, MMO, DX9/DX10 that also is truly Next-Gen-Ready - with scalable computation and graphics for all major upcoming platforms.
It provides the complete game engine to create AAA quality next generation games, and includes the Sandbox level editor, a production-proven, 3rd generation “What you see is what you play” (WYSIWYP) - tool designed by and for professional developers.

Below you will find an extremely indepth (over 3,000 words) look into the features of the engine, if you want a quick look at the engine check out our trailer and screenshots in our article here instead.

CryENGINE 3 Sandbox: The Ultimate Game Creation Toolset

CryENGINE 3 Sandbox gives developers full control over their multi-platform creations in real-time. It features many improved efficiency tools to enable the fastest development of game environments and game-play available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. All features of CryENGINE 3 games (without exception) can be produced and played immediately with Crytek’s “What You See Is What You Play” (YSIWYP) system!

CryENGINE 3 Sandbox was introduced in 2001 as the world’s first editor featuring YSIWYP technology. Since then Crytek have continued to improve and enhance the CryENGINE 3 Sandbox tools; and now the 3rd generation, fully integrated CryENGINE 3 Sandbox editor brings YSIWYP functionality to a whole new level. WYSIWYP is now possible on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; enhanced production tools and development efficiencies will give your team more time to create AAA multi-platform game content.

Team Bondi have apparently hired a 360 team (APPARENTLY)

So I believe it'll be multi platform, but thats only what I've heard

Well, although not known if it will be a 2009 or 2010 release, Red Dead Redemption, the sequel to Rockstars Red Dead Revolver got it's first Official trailer today, rumours are that it will be using the same engine that GTA IV used, so it should look good, the trailer seems to show that it will too.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION TRAILER:

Red Dead Revolver was one that I never did end up playing, I just never really thought I would get into the whole western genre, had a few times where I was inches away from buying it, but ended up choosing against it, might have to check it out though if Red Dead Redemption keeps up the great trailers.

Red Dead Redemption has been delayed until 2010.:(

RED DEAD REDEMPTION DELAYED UNTIL 2010
Take-Two has announced that BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption have all been delayed until Fiscal 2010.

"The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2," says Chief Executive Officer of Take-Two, Ben Feder. "We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve. As a result, we will now be launching sequels to several of our strongest franchises -- including BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption -- during the next fiscal year."

Technically this could mean that they might be released in late November (since the "fiscal year" is silly), but I wouldn't get my hopes up. This really opens up Take-Two's release schedule for the later part of 2009, and leaves them with very few AAA titles. While I doubt anyone is too shocked to see Mafia or Max Payne go, finding out that BioShock 2 isn't making '09 is full of awfulness and suck.

I played 3 Poke'mon games on my uni holidays - Blue, Crystal and Emerald. :thumbsu:

I didn't really like Emerald that much.

2nd generation is the best (Gold, Silver, Crystal).
