Ellis/Morris is my B7, K.Hunt is my B9.

Why would i have started Bugg (vs eagles) coming off a 57 ahead of Ellis/Morris coming off 61/77 vs (melbourne easiest team to score against)?? :o:eek::o

@Mattrox who scored more at of Bugg and K.Hunt on the weekend?

The only way im down is the money he has made

EDIT: I agree those that started Bugg are way ahead because they dont do research and wouldve started him every week, whereas i would have only played him in R2 and R4 coming off very good scores and against weaker opposition. So i would be behind in points by either 24 but then with that would have 100k extra roughly.

And the 30 ppg. Maybe these "non researchers" just thought "The ball will be in GWS's backline 90% of the game".

I had bugg on the field every round, including rnd 1. I must be a non-researcher...

Anyway back on topic...

I think some Kudos are in order.

Firstly I want to thank Swan. Many doubted you at the start of the season but you have proven that your chubby appearance is only there to fool the wannabe DT coaches. Back it up next week son and put yourself out of the reach of these unworthy coaches.

I also want to thank Stanton. Hopefully he sucked many Ex-Ablett owners into the delusion that he can finally handle a tag. He still has little to no inside game and it showed today.

He sucked 9,000 coaches in.

I was thinking that... but couldn't be bothered making a link to one / editing the text to suit. Good job :thumbsu:

Maybe you should check the last 10 games of the season where he was tagged at least 8 of the weeks. Visit fanfooty if you want. Avg over 117.

I agree though, pretty dumb to trade Ablett to Stanton. I reckon Ablett will be back after one week. Hes returned quickly after knee troubles before and scored very well.

For 5 mins at the start of each of those games?

LOL

Stanton is always a worry with a tag. He scores most of his points through uncontested ball from his gut running. You put someone on him with a tank and he doesn't get the free space so doesn't score as well. It's not like Clarke is an excellent tagger. Even if he runs his opponent to the ground that most likely wouldn't happen until the 4th when most times its too late for a good score.

I hope he keeps getting tagged as i have Watson :D

You obviously havnt been watching this year. Look at the clearances, tackles and contested possession categories.

You obviously havnt been watching this year. Look at the clearances, tackles and contested possession categories.

I have watched every game he has played so far this season. My post said he scores the majority of his points from uncontested possessions, you don't get points for clearances. But anyways,

Round 5 - 4 contested possessions, 6 tackles and 2 clearances.
Round 4 - 7 contested possessions (from 36 disposals),4 tackles and 3 clearances.
Round 3 - 13 contested possessions, 8 tackles and 4 clearances
Round 2 - 8 contested possessions, 4 tackles and 3 clearances
Round 1 - 18 contested possessions, 9 clearances, 5 clearances

A few notes on those games. Round 1 he had a great game against North, no debating that. Round 2 he scored well but his CP's and tackles are nothing to boast about. 17 uncontested possessions. Round 3 was up against GC and he didn't get his usual amount of uncontested possessions and scored 93. Round 4 he had a huge 175 but his contested possessions and tackles were fairly average and account for a very small amount of his score. Round 5 he received his first tag for the year and was kept out of the game with a score of 77 despite having 6 tackles.

It's fairly simple. Apart from round 1 he has relied on his uncontested possessions (usually +6's) to get him to his big scores. If he doesn't get them (GC and Collingwood), he doesn't score well. The fact that he is a premium mid and how poorly he coped with the tag last week, owners have to be worried about him getting the tag.

You must projectiled late in the game on wednesday then pillager?

And yeah as a Stanton owner (from the start) I'm hoping he doesn't cop the tag. He's not a ball-winner. He seems to be ok on the lead though so I think is only hope is to move forward and try to beat a tag that way.

Just on his game against Carlton. I knew he would score 140+ as soon as he lined up on a HBF against Lucas. It's a shame that Armfield missed that game with injury, as he is a good mid/forward tag as well as an elite runner. Would have kept him to a maximum 20-25 possies and not 36 IMHO.

Yeah, I tasted some beer and pizza for a second time.

Kudos to VC Swan for the massive score. What a sensational game he played. Kudos to Sidebottom, I know almost everyone has him but he has really exceeded my expectations. He has a great game for DT.

Finally, kudos to Heppell. Backline premiums are always hard to come by and he has so far been as good as, if not better than, just about anyone else around his price.

Great post James. Ive played with Kane and against Kane and he wouldnt have even known if Stanton was his opposing player. Anyone will score a ton playing on him with any decent quality. He cares about getting the footy and nothing else.

Stanton has certainly improved his clearances, de%, contested possessions from the folowing year and of course tackles. Im guessing he is an even better pick for those that play SC.

As i said got tagged 8 of the last 10 games last season and avg 117+ in this time. With Watson, Zaharakis, Heppell all getting better and attracting attention pushing up to play more time in the midfield and guys like Watson and Hocking who are huge body sized midfielders that can protect similar to the ways Bartel, Ling ect did for Garry back in the day.
