Watching the reserves play borders on the depressing so much of the time. Here's something predictable again.

What role is Martin playing?

His numbers throughout the opening rounds seem well down on previous seasons

I've noticed this at AFL level as well, what's the status of the kicking in danger rule? Dead and buried?

Yeah we've run out of gas. From a quick look we have 11 AFL listed players and they have 15 or 16 I think. And the vast majority of our AFL players are KPP or Rucks. Midfield just doesn't get enough of it.

Out of our 11 we have a few coming back from injury

Laughing at that commentator seemingly shocked by how bad our average numbers are, well yeah, that's what you get when you're injury depleted and have to bring in top up players.

I think it was against the Bulldogs that I actually saw a player get kicked in the guts and it was play on. How is it not kicking in danger when the player gets kicked? It may be that it needs to be around the head but surely any kick to the person is dangerous.

Makes an appearance maybe half a dozen times in a season? Then the general reaction is, 'oh, that rule'

Martin often is played as a loose man in defence as well as through the midfield and wings. He's Younie's Mr Fixit is my impression.
