Great post Kitty, this and the one above, #93, are the best two I've seen regarding this subject.

I'm getting in early and nominating you for poster of the year. :thumbsu:
Thank you so much Cattery + for your kind words.

TBH, there are many others far more deserving of POTY, I appreciate your support though :)

You're both right. However, I prefer not to engage with them. I also believe that people can only affect you, if you allow them to. Why let someone live rent free in your head? It's a waste of time + energy. Indifference is more powerful than hatred.

Also, when people are nasty + hold a grudge, it says more about their petty nature, than you.

I suppose it's because I'm probably a lot older than the two of you. I've just reached an age where I no longer GAF what people think of me. Remember, those who behave badly, hold a grudge or are just plain spiteful will probably have more people who dislike them. Ultimately, when you (the general you) are vile to another, or hold a grudge, more people will dislike you than if you are friendly, inclusive + ignore crap.

You're engaging with them through diatribes such as this. And letting everybody know they are winding you up in game day threads etc.

I always wondered how people even get offended on a place like this. It would make no difference to me if a poster wished death on me and everyone I loved. Same as people with overly glowing or overly harsh opinion of the Cats - fair enough argue the points themselves and disagree, but the kind of thought policing to denigrate someone just because their views of the club differ to yours is puzzling. Both sides do it. Guess the forum would be pretty boring if they didn't though.

Only once have I said I was upset by the tone of the Board. At least I apologised, acknowledged that I did it + that it wouldn't affect anyone but me.

Ooooh! "Diatribes" - harsh! ;) I hardly think my post was a bitter attack. I was calm + simply put my view forward.
I'm not engaging with them, it has been a discussion between you + me, anyone is free to join in, + they have.

"fair enough argue the points themselves and disagree, but the kind of thought policing to denigrate someone just because their views of the club differ to yours is puzzling." Agree with that MrM.

BUT, "to denigrate someone just because their views. . .differ to yours is puzzling." Hmmmm, is that what you're trying to do to me?
"You're engaging with them through diatribes such as this. And letting everybody know they are winding you up in game day threads etc." Or was it:
More just my own interpretation, to take the negatives with a pinch of salt for the reasons you earlier listed. And the tantrums can be quite fun anyway. Having said that if everyone put their forum hat on in real life situations 24/7 it would be a nightmare to deal with.

That is all I'm doing: "take the negatives with a pinch of salt".

Not sure why this headed south  I agree with your previous posts, then expanded on them. Interesting discussion.

All good here + respect your thoughts.

Anyway, carry on :)

EDIT: Forgot to say that if anyone wished you ill, Mr Meow, I'd pull them up + I think others would too. You're very fondly regarded.

Oh yeah, sorry I do like to play devil's advocate. Not trying to pull you apart or anything. And diatribe probably is a bit harsh. Just putting forward everything's easier here if we do take the actual "venom" some posts appear to have with a large dose of salt. Personally I get a chuckle out of some of the stuff and can relate to it as we all get a bit irrational when discussing a passion of ours.

Last sentiment shared! Probably an example where I'm trying to offer an alternative view and coming across overly harsh.

No Mr Meow, it's all good + I've enjoyed our discussion, no offence taken, just some tongue in cheek exchange. I agree with you Mr Meow, best to take those sort of posts with a dose of salt + not engage with them.

Some of the melts were epic on Sunday, while I feel for them, there were some amusing ones, from people who knew they were melting + gave us some laughs. Must admit I do have a giggle when our posters get stuck into opposition team trolls, especially the wonderful comments from our Mods.
