Harvey as stand in for one year wouldn't be too bad if you couldn't get anyone but that's all it would or could be. As you said, if he is terrible it makes it incredibly hard to move him on, especially being Robert Harvey

It's a senior coaching gig, if he wanted to go for it there would surely be a clause in his contract like most assistants. Especially someone like him.

They need to get him or an experienced coach. That isn't Mark Neeld or Dean Bailey.

If there is such a clause. If not then North won't release him and nor should they, quality assistant to have.

The Saints are a rabble and not really enticing job for a new coach.

I would be very surprised if any well known assistant didn't have this clause in their contract

I don't really know, I think Choco will likely get it. Worsfold wouldn't be too bad but he probably wants the year off.

I guess it's hard to hire a club legend as a coach if they haven't had top coaching experience. The Swans got lucky with Paul Roos because he had half a season try-out.

Mark Williams for 2-3 seasons and then Robert Harvey takes over. Kind of like what Pies did with Malthouse & Buckley.
