Regardless neck face is not, i repeat, not an artist nor remotely talented.

He is the basquiat of the 2000's his work is nothing more than a fashion status for the cool hip young urban white kids from suburbia.

Dunno about that. Dude gets paid for ****ing around. Some one must think it's art.

A shitload of art is just band wagoning. Out of all those guys I posted he's the least talented and least respected in the 'scene' yet he makes the most money from his work.

It's because neck face is a complete and utter sell out. He has not one ounce of self respect for his work (i would'nt either if i had his talents) and is willing to whore himself out there where's most artists like to remain in the shadows and let their work do all the talking. Not neck face..he puts himself out there and doesn't give a shit about ethics or artistic integrity, because he has none nor is he an artist. And this makes him "cool" to the urban white kids who want to follow street art. In essence he is the bad boy of street art.

And i thought banksy would have been posted earlier..he is losing his gloss that banksy.

That is bullshit

It is. I'm indirectly referencing that Picasso quote we he said he was painting like a master at 8 and the rest of his life was spent trying to paint like a child.

Bump.

"It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."

Just read a large book about him. Fascinating stuff.

Biggest regret of mine is not realising Picasso was from Malaga, spending four days in Malaga, and not checking out his dedicated museum...

I have two original Uderzo sketches, one of Geriatrix, and one of Fulliautomatix. My old man collects a fair bit, and has a couple of Lloyd Rees', and a Jeffrey Smart.
Lloyd Rees? Impressive. I love his way of portraying Australia in some of his landscapes.

Sidney Nolan is the greatest Australian painter in my humble.
I like Sydney Nolan. His story about Heide and the art scene is also very interesting. Like how he painted the whole Ned Kelly series apart from I think one peice quickly on the dining room table when he was having an affair with Sunday Reed. But I think he is like a gateway artist like the the more you research his stuff you find other Australian artists that personally I prefer.

Having said that I read a Henry Lawson book that used that art and it complimented it perfectly.

As for current local artists. I would recommend MISO and Ghostpatrol as two that have been doing it for a while and use a range of mediums.
