I thought he's ruck work was a lot better last week than today, Jamar definitely beat him at the center bounces IMO although his general play wasn't too bad around the ground...I'm looking forward to Ivan coming back next week because I thought we missed him dearly today.

The Big O was beaten in the ruck today. Ivan is definitely our number 1 ruckman. The Big O is a handy backup though.

He's shown in his two games that he's a below average AFL ruckman that can compete without humiliating himself. That's a step up from Gus. He will break even or even beat the weaker ruck divisions but will get shown up against West Coast and co.

Hopefully Maric can stay fit and he doesn't play too many games.

Lets just say this. At the end of the day, if Jamar did a number on the Big O,the big O was somewhat competitive, but jamar tore Ty a new one when Ty went into the ruck. We rested Maric which was what we wanted and if we didnt have the big O, then Ivan wouldnt have got the rest, because Derrickx and Ty? ...naa..Big O was an upgraded rookie to do what he has basically done..offer some respite for Ivan...job well done...back to the 2s now until the next call up for Ivan's breather...thats all.

I think a large reason Melbourne were able to stay with us today was because they were getting first use most of the time from their ruck hitouts. Big O did well against Redden last week probably because Redden has only played a handful of games. Against an experienced campaigner like Jamar, he got soundly beaten. He also pulled up sore late in the last quarter. Still thought he competed ok though - certainly an improvement on Goose Graham. Hopefully Maric's rest will have him hungry to destroy Bellchambers and Ryder next week
