Very dissapointed with him tonight. Should have been dragged in the 2nd quarter after some very lackluster efforts. Got a few softies but otherwise was pretty quiet.

If teams keep flooding he cant do anything, due to our poor delivery...any solutions?

Recruit Jonathan Brown and play him at CHF. That should take some attention away from Fev.

I thought Fev tried hard, but was up against it playing against the St Kilda defence and our own midfield. IF he keeps putting in the effort he'll get rewards.... eventually.

I reckon the club will speak softly and hold a big stick with Fevalenko.

But I reckon Fev and the team miss a Big Red type up forward, our forward line seems anemic without him (and Lappin as well for that matter). Red shoulda taken a pay cut, he played himself and his career to Laverton RSL for parmajana and punting...Idiot.

If Fev's workrate and impact as an elite-forward hasn't improved by round 12-14, expect he'll put up a sook and demand to be traded by years end.

And if so, lets just hope we get a consistent gun from a team who needs him.

Fevola's been running his arse off in both games, trying to provide contests and making some good leads. It is not his fault our midfielders are too shit to deliver the ball to him properly, or deliver it to him in a 2 or 3 to 1 contest. Hudgton beat him I thought, but he didn't give up. You'd think that if our midfield actually improves, he'll be on the end of more good passes, hence a higher chance of kicking more goals.

since pre-season i think we've actually seen a new fev. he's more focussed on chasing, spoiling and being a general nuisance to the oppositon these days rather than do the "**** it i'll kick a goal and nothing else" option. sure it's great to see him more team orientated, but he's due for a bag of 6 or so soon. it's what we love him for.

and we all know he loves the bummers! :)

If you have a look at the Carlton game style last night any forward is going to struggle, they kick the ball wide and short, never at any stage going direct to put the opposition defence under pressure, this played into the saints plan last night.

Ratten's game plan is too indirect, you mention about trading Fev, well he is now our only forward with some quality, you also mention about picking up another gun player, well l think we gave away two young players this year for Judd, to go down the same path in a strong draft would be a huge mistake other clubs seem to be able to develop young players, Carlton are still finding it difficult to develop and improve its young players.

our problem is not due to fevola. There are threads all over asking what will be our next excuse as this thread simply highlights this ridiculous response.

it is not due to fev, he is doing fine. The problem lies further up the field.....

You can't question the blokes efforts over the past 2 weeks. He's run himself into the ground trying to apply some forward line pressure.

He just seems to lack the pace off the mark he had last year. I know this will be due to an interupted pre-season, but thats what set Fev apart from the rest.

Get Big K in there, will give them some structure with Fish and Fev.

I much prefer seeing Hoops at Fev's feet then Betts as well. Reads it so much better and his kicking skills speak for themselves.

Against Richmond, where our midfield actually got a chance to breathe, the ball came to him beautifully - I remember Judd picking him out with a quality kick more than once. But that said, since Round 3 2007, his kicking for goal has been less than reliable.

The problem is our forward structure is it's too one-dimensional without an imposing CHF (Edwards? Cloke?) because we're using good potential forwards in the ruck or to shore up defence (Waite, O'hAilpin). This makes it super easy for quality teams to nullify our attack.
