At Nine's Upfronts in September 2020, it was revealed that the mammoth 17th season will see the new teams take on the renovation of five properties.

And now the exact location of The Block 2021 has been confirmed: Bronte Court in Hampton, which is a picturesque suburban cul-de-sac.

Rumor is this might be fans versus favorites show (unconfirmed).

In other news, Josh and Elyse (The Block 2017 contestants & winners) have had their first baby.

Mitch & Mark, and Ronnie & Georgia are the favs. They'll be facing off against fans, Tanya and Vito, Josh and Luke — who some might already recognize from Love Island Australia — and Kirsty and Jesse.

I know a couple of builders who were on it this year. They finished up on the block in May so the show managed to get through any lockdowns without much, if any trouble.

I think the selection of both Fav's couples is designed to stir up a bit of drama in the show. In their respective seasons, people disliked Mitch & Mark and Ronnie & Georgia. Just remember, it's just a reality TV show. Not life and death.

It starts in 4 days so I guess they're ramping up the promotion of it. With the Olympics on 7 probably getting the most viewers C9 probably thinks they need to push it a bit more than usual.
